09:13:53 <gour> I was behind my reconciliation for 18 months and felt quite desperate. Even considering to move to hledger believing I'll fire the Emacs editor more often, but that would not help...Finally, decided to stay with GC since its reconcilation dialog is indispensable
09:20:28 <gour> I'm using the app for more than 10yrs, but like a fool and for the first time I tried to download my bank statements in .xls format, convert to CSV, clean a bit and then import into GC
09:21:16 <gour> little by little I was becoming quite familiar with the process and in few days was able to reconcile our 2 bank acocunts 😄
09:24:07 <gour> I realized that instead of adding e.g. bank fee into split transaction, it is better to just record plain transaction and fee as separate ones. Howver, with the time, I've realized that the only transactions involving bank accounts which I do need to manually enter, are those where I want to split items (e.g. food, cosmetic etc.). If the transactions are 'pure', then I can leave them to import machanism!

09:25:58 <gour> Sometimes, even if the recorded transaction date and the bank statement do differe in a single days, the import mechanism failed...should I simply manually enter such transaction by changing the date according to the banks records?
