15:46:49 <Robert847> I just noticed another anomaly when I crash GnuCash. Just after I click File > Quit the current window on the screen reverts to what it looked like at the beginning when I started the program instead of what it looked like at the end. Thus the account windows opened during the session had alrerady disappeared before the data file was [unsuccessfully] closed. So the first action to close the file which affects the screen display fails

15:57:10 <Robert847> I still have not closed in on what action prior to closing the file that sets up the failure. In this session I entered several transactions, saved the file regularly so I lost no transaction data and I opened a couple of account windows and adjusted column widths and finally I jumped to acouple of other account windows to review some history before I decided to save the column widths which I had changed.

16:09:38 <Robert847> This is the third nightly build of the 5.13 version that I have tried and I prevously worked through 5.9, 5.10, 5.11 and 5.12. Some of those had other unrelated issues. I did not try to debug crashes while closing the data file until these recent nightly builds. These 5.13 nightly builds have all crashed during the process of closing the data file but not every time and not consistently enough to identify a consistent trigger.

16:22:40 <jralls> OK, that's good enough. Both are after I reverted the bug 799249 non-fix. So whatever the problem is it's something new.

16:27:38 <jralls> The only way they could be causing a problem is if writing them to the GCM file is causing the crash, and if they weren't open in the last crash then obviously they weren't involved in that one.
