12:51:12 <witcher> hi! i'm packaging gnucash for alpine linux and get the following error on 32 bit architectures (namely armhf, armv7, and x86): https://gitlab.alpinelinux.org/witcher/aports/-/jobs/1967161#L2126
12:51:27 <witcher> is this a known issue? should i consult the mailing list? open a bug on bugzilla?
12:52:16 <witcher> sorry, missing information: this is for the 5.12 release of gnucash downloaded from https://sourceforge.net/projects/gnucash/files/gnucash%20%28stable%29/5.12/gnucash-5.12.tar.gz/download
13:30:18 <jralls> witcher, somebody else brought that up a couple of weeks ago, I'm looking for it. The problem has to do with SQLite3 type hinting and how GnuCash interprets int64_t, see https://bugs.gnucash.org/show_bug.cgi?id=799623.
13:32:41 <witcher> jralls: I see, thanks for the info! I'll wait for the patch to fix it then, or 5.13 if it follows soon after, to update it on Alpine.
13:32:46 <witcher> and good luck finding the bug :)
13:39:25 <jralls> witcher, I meant that I was looking for the other instance of it being brought up, not that I'm actively working on fixing it. Here's the previous instance: https://lists.gnucash.org/pipermail/gnucash-devel/2025-July/047088.html
14:32:06 <witcher> i see
14:38:35 <jralls> witcher, Looks like there isn't a lot of 32-bit linux left, so I'm setting up an Alpine instance in WSL. Does Alpine have an equivalent of apt build-deps gnucash to get a build environment set up?
14:59:57 <witcher> jralls: if there is i'm not aware of it. afaik you always have to https://gitlab.alpinelinux.org/alpine/aports.git, go to community/gnucash, and use "abuild" to build the package. using "-rkK" automatically installed build dependencies and keeps the sources around after a failed build
15:00:09 <witcher> "abuild -rkK" that is
15:01:35 <witcher> Here is my MR if you need it: https://gitlab.alpinelinux.org/alpine/aports/-/merge_requests/86357, but simply setting "pkgver=5.12" and "pkgrel=0" in APKBUILD followed by a "abuild checksum" should suffice

15:21:52 <jralls> witcher, do you mean I need to clone aports.git?
15:33:32 <jralls> I guessed yes and it's building.

17:07:28 <CDB-Man> i wonder if gnucash is memory leaking on windows. i notice that even after a clean boot, gnucash runs quite slowly
17:08:12 <CDB-Man> whenever the window loses focus, it takes on average 2-3 seconds to regain focus. the right click menu on tabs to see the tab menu, takes about 2-3 seconds to laod. other UO features take 2-3 seconds to load
