12:50:15 <jralls> bauen1, reconciliation works only on the splits for the account you're reconciling. GnuCash always calculates balances from the beginning so the total number of splits in the account is going to have more impact on computing the reconcile info dialog (the one that gets the date and ending balance) than the number of unreconciled splits.
12:52:46 <jralls> bauen1, After loading your data everything is done in memory so backend is irrelevant until you click the finish button. That commits all of the updates and for a SQL backend--but not an XML one--will run an UPDATE query on the newly reconciled splits.
