03:39:26 <Simon> separate meaning they exist twice?
03:39:46 <Simon> modify one of the transactions and delete the other
04:46:28 <moop> simon: meaning that there's one for a withdrawal in one account and a matching deposit in the other
06:31:07 *** warlord2 is now known as warlord
06:31:22 *** ChanServ sets mode: +qo warlord warlord
06:32:43 <warlord> moop, and what's the transfer account on those transactions? How did you import them? QIF? OFX?
06:33:25 <warlord> My guess is that you did not properly assign the "other" account during the import, so you have two transactions going.... somewhere. You will need to modify one of the transactions and then delete the other.
09:28:50 <moop> warlord: they were OFX files. There is an assignment of "other" accounts?
09:29:45 <warlord> moop, yes, there is.
09:29:54 <moop> oh oh :(
09:30:06 <moop> where be it? I totally missed it.
09:30:07 <warlord> You clearly didn't do that, which is why the importer didn't find it as a duplicate.
09:30:38 <warlord> It's in the import matcher window -- on the right side there is an "other account" column (I don't recall the actual column header title -- I don't user the importer)
09:30:52 <moop> lemme see.
09:35:01 <moop> i have the generic import transaction matcher but I can't see anything akin to "other account"
09:42:12 <moop> which of the A, U+C, C fields should be chosen for this? I see that just choosing A created new entries in the other account but did not alter the existing ones that are the deposit
09:43:20 <moop> (i found what I think you were referring to in the right-mouse-button menu)
09:54:46 <moop> I think I know what bit me. the descriptions of the transactions differ slightly. one says withdrawal in it and the other deposit. what this cause my issues?
09:58:49 <moop> yeah. that's what's doing it :( poop!
10:01:29 <warlord> You should be able to mark one a dup of the other during the import.
10:03:28 <moop> not sure what you mean.
10:05:03 <warlord> The deposit and withdrawal transactions -- once you import one (and mark the correct other account), then when you import the second (for the "other" account) you should be able to mark it as a duplicate of the first import.
10:09:27 <moop> oh I think I see what you mean. but if you've already imported the first set of transactions... hrm. can I just delete the imported once and import again?
10:14:11 <warlord> Maybe? At this point you're best off just deleting one and re-pointing the other and moving on.
10:14:47 <moop> i'm fiddling and may be getting somewhere. you've given me valuable thoughts to bother with :)
10:18:38 <moop> glory be!
10:18:45 <moop> warlord: many thanks for your help. :)
10:19:23 <moop> that was complicated but it appears to work. joy. :)
10:20:32 <warlord> Glad you got it working.
10:21:26 <moop> it's lovely seeing the correct descriptions and all in the splits. I like it when things keep on being consistent and descriptive.
