10:16:47 <Robert847> I just had an instance of GnuCash rel 4.8 running in a linux virtualbox and release 5.10 running on the Windows 10 host both crash simultaneously (to my eyes, anyway). The release 5.10 instance was the second crash, only one transaction deletion since the previous crash. The trace file in that case indicated "ERROR <gnc.ledger> [gnc_split_register_get_trans_split()] bad row" many times after the first crash
10:18:03 <Robert847> Task manager shows less than 70% of 32 G ram used
10:28:20 <Robert847> They were each open with separate but nearly identical data files operating in mirror images of the same account register.
11:52:27 <Robert847> My question is whether anyone has noticed any leakage between GnuCash on a host vs within a virtualbox guest.? FWIW There is no functional share folder to accidentally use.

18:07:54 <Simon> If you're running it under Linux you can get a stack trace more easily
20:54:47 <Robert847> I am not ready to set up gdb to get a better trace. This doesn't happen very often andd I have not been able to reproduce the crases reliably
20:56:57 <Robert847> maybe a few times a month seemingly randomly
20:59:00 <Robert847> I might try release 5.11 soon if there are no more worrisome reports on the maillist
