11:52:03 <jwhite> good news: my wife has made the jump to GnuCash; the import fixups I did seem to be working. yay, and thanks! mixed news: now I'm motivated to try to improve her quality of life and maybe help improve GnuCash. bad news: now I'm a naive well intentioned dev trying to help, and I'm going to need lots of clue bats.
11:53:20 <jwhite> I've read https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Custom_Reports#Custom_Reports_in_GnuCash and have created my first custom version of the budget report. I'm curious if there are any discussions / history around reports I could/should also read. 12:29:31 <jralls> jwhite, there's been a fair amount of discussion about budgets over the years on the mailing lists. Try searching "site:lists.gnucash.org/pipermail/ budget" and variations.
12:30:55 <jralls> jwhite as for curating the current standard reports, not much discussion. Chris adds new ones from time to time but I don't recall anyone suggesting removing any of them.
12:34:47 <jwhite> cool, thanks. I'll do more reading. And that suggests that the ml would be a good place to raise the question of restructuring the reports as well.
12:35:41 <jralls> It would.
