08:01:35 <henk> I imported a bank statement from CSV and there is one transaction in it that is in EUR while the account is in CHF. the "other account" is currently "Imbalance-EUR", i.e. also EUR. I want to assign it to "aufwendungen:auto:tanken" which is in CHF. when I do, the popup appears for converting the amount to CHF. no matter what I give there, the result in the account view is really
08:01:37 <henk> weird. sometimes another amount of over 9000 shows up (for an amount of ~100 CHF/EUR), sometimes just another amount of around 100CHF/EUR but it’s never just balanced. what am I supposed to do here?
08:06:27 <henk> if I just keep pressing enter when those popups appear, I end up with 96.02 "Charge" and 2 "payments", one with 96.02, another with 8924.10 o_O

14:19:51 <henk> starman: oooh, thanks, I’ll try some things. I assigned some column to "price" and that’s probably not a good idea.

17:56:00 <Viper> I have created a new year by importing my accounts into the new blank file. When I import an OFX file the account associations are missing for the reconcile column. Is there a way to get the Import Log Data into my new file so that the account assignments will autocomplete and I don't have to use
17:56:01 <Viper> manual assignmet for each transaction?

19:00:53 <Robert847> Hi I have noticed that in release 5.6 Build ID: 5.6+(2024-03-30) the sort by number menu action does nor sort exactly the same as it did in release 4.something when invoked in a 'with subaccoiunts' bank register window. I want to write up a bug report if appropriate, but I am struggling to specifically identify exactly what is different. The account register contains a transaction with the word "Telephone" in the Num field. that
19:00:53 <Robert847> to sort just before the word"Tentative" in the transaction that has the focus. Now the word "Telephone" does not sort just before "Tentative"
19:01:34 <Robert847> I don't know where it goes now
19:08:27 <Robert847> In fact, something has happened now so that the menu action View > Sort by.. doesn't work any more in that particular register view, but it does still work in other register windows
19:09:28 <Robert847> I think it just crashed
19:11:11 <Robert847> Yep. I will try again
19:13:52 <Robert847> now it does sort the same as before, so I cannot repeat whatever was going wrong before
19:15:10 <Robert847> but it took hours between when the sort first appeared to work differently and when it crashed
19:17:01 <Robert847> I think I may have lost a transaction edit or two so I will have to check a few things
19:17:41 <Robert847> Bye for now
