11:41:35 <Robert847> Hi. On August 26 around 9:30 AM CDT I started a debugging session with coaching from jralls. I have time to continue work on that. At that time I was unable to attach gdb to the gnucash process with the symbol table

15:54:24 <jralls> Robert847, gnc_sx_instance_model_effect_change is the most likely function for the crash, but a backtrace isn't going to have the offending SX's guid. You'll need to go to that frame in the debugger and examine the GncSxInstances's ScheXAction object. You can't do that until you get the symbols sorted. Without them you'll be wading around in a sea of assembly code.

16:45:13 <Robert847> Jralls, thank you. Today I have not yet succeeded in downloading the debug info for gnucash. I have been distracred the last couple of hours, so I need to review what I did wrong

17:54:34 <Robert847> I think that once I succeeded in downloading the symbols but then I couldn't attach gdb to the gnucash process. Today I have not downloaded the symbols but I haven't stayrd at the terminal long enought to see what I did not do the same as them
