10:35:09 <giuseppef> Hi, I remember something about not updating Glossary transalation. Can someone link me the rules about Glossary translation?

10:54:30 <henk> hi, any advice how to deal with CAMT.053 files? AFAICT importing them is not possible, is it? does anyone know of a FLOSS converter for them?
10:55:40 <henk> context: the CSV and MT940 exports from my bank collapse multiple transactions into one and they say "that is intended and wanted by the banks" even though I can’t imagine it making any sense for most usecases of an export. they say I need to use the CAMT.053 format …

12:43:59 <henk> warlord: I think it’s also called https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_20022, does that ring a bell?
12:44:56 <warlord> Sorry, no
12:46:34 *** palerider has joined #gnucash
12:46:47 <henk> warlord: ok, what does it mean that you have never heard of the format?
12:47:20 *** palerider has left #gnucash
12:47:41 <warlord> It means it's not in AqBanking or GnuCash.
12:48:01 <warlord> So there will be a heavy lift (most likely) to get it integrated.
12:48:06 <warlord> AqB is your best route.
12:48:13 <warlord> I would reach out to them.
13:13:54 <jralls> henk, warlord, GnuCash 5.x does support CAMT 0.53 import: File>Import>Import with AQBanking. Select xml on the left then camt_053_001_04 on the right.
13:15:00 <Simon> ISO20022 is not a data format, it's a standard for defining data formats
13:16:02 <jralls> Now I can't be sure that it supports the CAMT 0.53 exactly as supported by hemt's bank, there's apparently some amount of variation in how the spec is applied. If it doesn't match up you should be able to get help on creating a profile to match on the AQBanking mailing list.

14:09:32 <henk> warlord: I see, thank you
14:09:43 <henk> jralls: that’s good, I’ll test that, thank you
14:10:15 <henk> Simon: oh, ok, good to know, didn’t dig that deep into it, thanks
14:11:39 <Simon> it means that obtaining a copy of ISO20022 is likely to be futile, so you shouldn't do it
14:12:14 <henk> oh, I wouldn’t. it’s xml and I have no clue about programming, so that wouldn’t be of much use anyway :D
14:12:19 <henk> thanks for the warning!

15:57:13 <henk> ok, 5.3 can import that file via aqbanking’s 'xml -> camt.053…'
16:06:15 <henk> ok, so this is "fun": the csv does not show any split, it’s just one transaction. the mt940 file "kinda" shows that that transaction is actually two, but possibly not in a way that is easy to parse or something. the camt.053 file shows one entry but shows very detailed that this is actually two transactions. only gnucash/aqbanking still import it as one ):
