12:07:55 <AdrienM> isometry, there is an estimate function to auto-fill amounts in the budget. You can choose when GnuCash starts looking at history and then it works forward. The Summary isn't so much about 'balancing' like a regular transaction as it is about planning. Though the Remaining figure tells you if you're over/under budgeting funds.
