11:25:22 <AdrienM> MeChamoLegend, The way budgeting works has recently changed with respect to signs. I don't think it has been tested much. (I had plans to do so myself, but never got back to budgeting!) I just took a look, and indeed, the Summary section does not seem to be working properly. Alas, the Documentation has not been updated to explain how signs work here yet. I'll create a test book and file bugs as needed. Or perhaps it is working as intended, and
11:25:23 <AdrienM> you and I are using it wrong!

14:07:41 <jralls> AdrienM chris intended that budgets should mirror the rest of GC internals, i.e. + is always debit and - is always credit. The <=4.x budget payed attention to the reverse-sign preference but worked with only one value of it, IIRC Income/Expense.
14:08:33 *** palerider has left #gnucash
14:08:35 <AdrienM> I recall as much, but it still isn't working right.
14:09:00 <AdrienM> It seems to honor some settings of the Reverse Balance pref, but not others.
14:09:13 <AdrienM> I'm working on a test book for a bug report.
14:09:26 <AdrienM> The Summary section seems off as well.
14:09:31 <jralls> By honor I suppose you mean "work with".
14:12:43 <AdrienM> I mean, if set to 'None' everything is correct except Income is + instead of -, for 'Income & Expense', Expense is + Income is - and Transfers don't work right, if 'Credit' Expense is + Income - and Transfers 'work' but might be reversed sign.
14:15:21 <AdrienM> With Income & Expense, the detail Expenses & Income are both -, but the Summary shows Income +, Expenses -, and the Remaining to balance is a positive sum of their absolute values. The reverse can happen with other settings.
14:15:24 <AdrienM> It's a mess.
14:16:19 <jralls> OK. Looks like you've got enough for a bug report. :-/
14:26:53 <AdrienM> I'm trying to decide if I should file 1 or 2. There's one issue with the presentation of the signs, but then a second issue with the Summary's math. They might be related though.
14:35:31 <jralls> They probably are; one must assume that the first is really a presentation issue to think that they're separate. I'd go with just one.
14:47:19 <AdrienM> Roger that, thanks.

16:06:01 <jralls> warlord, is the flatpak nightly build script in one of the gitolite repos?

16:08:55 <warlord> I... don't think so?
16:09:01 <warlord> jralls, that was to you.
16:11:01 <jralls> Hmm, OK. Makes it hard for me to adjust it. Does it use gnucash-on-flatpak's build-package.sh? Could it be fixed by simply changing one of the jobs from maint/master to stable and removing the other one?
16:24:43 <warlord> jralls, no, the script does: for branch in maint master ; do
16:24:43 <warlord> ...
16:26:46 <jralls> So make it `for branch in stable ; do` and fire it off to see what happens.
16:29:24 <warlord> I updated the script..

19:26:56 <chris> adrienM: a *simple* test case will be useful.
19:28:02 <AdrienM> chris, will do.
