08:59:19 <gjanssens> jralls_afk: I don't have permission to restart apache on the gnucash webserver.
08:59:55 <gjanssens> But from my pc the website seems to be working fine.
09:01:24 <gjanssens> BTW, while linas solved the merge conflict I created way back, he didn't follow up on my request to update the sync script. The one currently is use is the one created in 2015 and is still based on 'git pull' rather than 'git reset'.
09:02:15 <gjanssens> So if code's htdocs repo at some point diverges again from the clones on the webserver, we'd be stuck again.
09:03:31 <gjanssens> As you managed to contact him recently, can you also ping him to replace the sync script with the one in my home directory ? I don't have sufficient privileges to do so myself...
09:12:46 <Simon> put the script in a git repo?
09:39:01 <gjanssens> Simon, that script holds sensitive data, it can't be made pulic like our code and htdocs repos.
09:39:36 <gjanssens> But the main issue is limited access on the webserver. I have (again) asked to review this.
10:19:13 <Simon> it doesn't need to be public, it may be easier than "copy it from *here*"
10:20:05 <Simon> although I'd argue that if the webserver is executing anything from the htdocs repo then you already all have access to execute commands as the user that runs that script
10:20:44 <Simon> (so there's no benefit in only some of you having access to modify it)
10:22:53 <gjanssens> It's not about the htdocs repo. It's about how the webserver is configured to work with that data. I get what you say about the htdocs user having access to what's in htdocs, but there are other parts involved that are not run by that user.

12:33:48 <vsilv> is there someone?
12:50:42 <fell> No, all sleeping orotherwisebusy. ;-) Now your real question?
12:51:37 <fell> vsilv ^
12:55:49 <fell> gjanssens, jralls, http://www.gnucash.org/ currently shows the "Ubuntu Logo Apache2 Ubuntu Default Page"
12:58:30 <fell> gjanssens, can review the logs?

14:16:26 <gjanssens> fell: when I check now, it's online ?
14:17:54 <gjanssens> I can't see the logs for the webserver
14:22:16 <fell> Still the Ubuntu page
14:22:56 <gjanssens> Is that http or https ?
14:24:55 <gjanssens> Strange, I consistently get the proper website, in both firefox and chromium
14:25:04 <gjanssens> Have you tried to empty your cache ?
14:29:21 <gjanssens> jralls_afk, fell: a quick check on the beta site suggests it's still not solved. The last news item there is from 2022-06-26. So it looks to me beta is still out of sync with master on the webserver...
14:32:31 <fell> Yes and now https: works while http:,which is called by Konversation, when I click on the link of the channel theme, still shows the ubuntu page.
14:33:43 <gjanssens> My firefox automatically redirects to https. Doesn't your webbrowser do the same ?
14:35:01 <gjanssens> But it's an interesting observation. Perhaps linas can reconfigure the site to automatically redirect to https as well...
14:35:17 <gjanssens> When I curl the main page over http: I also get an ubuntu default page.
14:35:27 <fell> Konversation calls firefox but without redirection
14:40:25 <gjanssens> Not onmy system... it does redirect here
14:40:28 <gjanssens> GTG
14:42:14 <fell> BTW, in download.phtml?lang=zh_CN the Flatpak section is still untranslated despite msgstr's exixt.

19:33:19 <Robert847> Hi. Where should we discuss or report bugs that appear either in the windows or flatpak nightly builds or in the official 4.90+ betas?
19:38:13 <Robert847> I found one relating to transaction sort in the registers in the windows nightly build from January 7 while I was looking for something else which I still want to do more research on before I start discussing it.
19:39:49 <Robert847> That register sort one is pretty serious and it probably also is in the 4.90 build.
19:47:14 <Robert847> But I would need to download that build to check it.
19:49:56 <Robert847> And I didn't put time in my schedule to be a beta tester
19:59:32 <Robert847> Anyone beta testing 4.90 should try sorting a register by, say, number, then back to standard order and see if it returns to standard order. The nightly build didn't return exactly to standard order but to a scrambled approximation missing many transactions.

20:04:44 <Robert847> That was not a controlled test, though, so I don't know exactly why that register is in the mess I put it in.
20:07:05 <Robert847> Definitely glad I was working with a test file

23:23:48 <AdrienM> Robert847, that bug is in 4.13 as well. I'm not sure if it is filed yet, but I noticed it a few days ago when I played with sort order for testing and found it didn't go back to my preference. There is also a list thread on this.
