13:23:42 <drl> Can anyone tell me how to download info from my Charles Schwab account using aqbanking. Specifically, I get asked for User Name, User Id, and ClietUID. The people at Schwab have no idea what the difference is.
13:39:38 <NoobAlice> drl: I don't use that feature, but have you seen this page? Looks like maybe you pick the Client UID: https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Setting_up_OFXDirectConnect
13:40:52 <NoobAlice> Looks like this page will also be useful to you, drl: https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/OFX_Direct_Connect_Bank_Settings
13:42:31 <drl> NoobAlice, Thank you. I'll check out those links.

17:23:32 <jralls> gjanssens, I'm moving app-utils swig stuff to bindings. Did you have it in mind to leave any of the scheme (e.g. c-interface.scm, fin.scm) in app-utils?
17:25:16 <gjanssens> jralls: I had in mind to move every last bit of scheme to bindings. So please go ahead.
17:26:13 <jralls> OK... fin.scm might be a challenge, it's another C->scm->C situation.
17:28:01 <gjanssens> Yeah, when I poked at it back then it was more complicated than I had hoped. IIRC the expression parser depends on the scheme versions of these functions.
17:31:16 <jralls> Which is understandable. Writing parsers by hand in C is a pain, and [f]lex and yacc/bison isn't much better. And scheme was right there.
17:31:59 <gjanssens> True.
17:32:23 <gjanssens> At some point we'll have to decide how to handle that going forward.
17:33:36 <gjanssens> Either stick with guile for those or find another solution. I have in the past looked briefly at a few boost libraries that were intended to write custom syntaxes.
17:33:39 <jralls> There's boost-something (hana?) that takes EBNF and spits out parser code.
17:33:58 <gjanssens> Unfortunately I don't remember which ones.
17:34:52 <gjanssens> There's hana, there's also spirit and I seem to remember seeing another one that was less complex (at least at first sight) but I don't remember which one that was.
17:34:52 <jralls> If it works, EBNF is at least easy to write and understand, unlike lex gobbledygook.
17:35:46 <jralls> IIRC spirit is like using nuclear weapons: Great for the intended purpose but way too much for most uses.
17:37:34 <jralls> But I haven't looked at either of them in some time. Maybe there's something else out there... Google and Evil, I mean Meta, have made a lot of their libraries Free.
