00:39:44 <GCM13> I am attempting to export transactions from one gnucash file to another. I export transactions from a particular account in .csv. When I attempt to import the transactions, gnucash won't accept them as it says the date format could not be understood. Both gnucash files have the same settings and date formats. I'm not sure why this is happening.
00:41:36 <CDB-Man> do closing entries created by the closing entry tool have some sort of special flag on the transaction? i'd like to close some accounts into a different retained earnings account, and as a result eh income statement roll-up does not recognize the journal entry as a closing entry (it thinks those income accounts are $0)
00:43:46 <GCM13> Why would gnucash export transactions with a date format that gnucash itself cannot parse into a date?
00:45:02 <CDB-Man> what are the date formats in question? because if you're using american mm-dd-yyyy dates... thats probably the reason
00:45:50 <GCM13> oh i'm foolish. I just realised I wasn't choosing to skip the first line ugh
00:48:57 <CDB-Man> chris: is the multicolumn income statement,. how are you cheking for closing entries?
00:49:02 <CDB-Man> because i think i may have found a bug

05:29:35 <henk> hi, any idea whether the date format for CSV import can be adjusted? I have "DD.MM.YYYY" but gnucash only seems to offer variants with - as the separator and no possibility of entering my own, is that correct?

13:24:58 <jralls> henk, does it really care about the delimiter? The listbox says e.g. d/m/y, but that's just to indicate date-month-year. It can't reasonably show all the possible choices.

16:16:29 <sirio> henk: i have never tried to actually import csv into gnucash - but i have experienced some interesting minor behavioural quirks that seem to be related to the locale with which gnucash is started
16:28:44 <henk> sirio: oh, good to know, thanks, I’ll keep my eyes open.

21:20:08 <chris> jralls I keep forgetting what flavour ming/msys2/etc for guile-windows... you may have seen https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/guile-devel/2022-05/msg00010.html which does use a complicated guix+wine toolchain

23:00:22 <GCM13> Is there a way to export only a subset of transactions such as those matching search criteria? I can only find a way to select a date range. I want to export only incomings from a particular source from an account that has multiple sources.
23:25:04 <GCM13> oh it's export active register isn't it
