13:33:31 <jralls> Vafa: The error you got is for incorrect credentials. Does Wells Fargo really let you access your account details online with a Guest user id?
13:40:25 <Vafa> Yes. I have two step auth activated on my main login but in the guest It's just user and password and I was able to login just with that. I tried once with my main login in gnucash and it giving me same error. Do you syncing with Wellsfargo?
13:48:40 <jralls> Vafa, that sounds like you have two logins maybe with different privileges? I haven't had an account at Wells Fargo since I was a kid, so can't offer any personal experience. You might try the user mailing list, see https://lists.gnucash.org/mailman/listinfo/gnucash-user. Someone there might be a Wells Fargo customer.
13:50:11 <jralls> It's also possible that WF has additional requirements for accessing OFX direct connect, maybe like the dance that USAA put in place, see https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/OFX_Direct_Connect_Bank_Settings#USAA or requiring that you enable it with customer service like Chase Bank has.

13:55:50 <jralls> Vafa: Oh, one other thought: Before USAA set up that special password mechanism they used one's ATM PIN as a password for OFX direct connect. That was pretty common until recently and is why the dialog box asks for a PIN instead of a password. Did you try that?

14:19:46 <Vafa> I have my debit card disabled and I don't remember the pin to try. But I think it is better to call Wellsfargo and find out details about how they authenticate users who use OFX. I called yesterday and they were so unwilling to help and kept telling me they don't support Gnucash and they could help me with Quickbook software problems while I was asking them about different OFX profile that I have.

14:55:12 <jralls> Vafa, that's unfortunately common. They'll only help with Quicken or Quickbooks. Somebody had to reverse engineer the USAA authentication procedure with a network sniffer because the latest Quicken versions know how to get the special token.
