12:32:14 <jralls> chris, master hasn't built on Windows since July 2020, always (at least all the logs that I checked) the same error: In procedure dynamic-link: file: "libtest-core-guile", message: "The specified module could not be found."

15:25:56 <gjanssens> jralls: you probably have to remove all gnucash dll's from files from master's inst directory
15:26:41 <gjanssens> This typically happens when there are changes in one of our own generated libraries and the guile compilation will first find the older version in inst.
15:26:59 <gjanssens> Instead of picking up the newly built one in the build directory
15:27:30 <jralls> Maybe. I tried it on my local VM and got different results.

15:40:58 <maurcon> Fantastic software, completely hooked. Spent 10 hours today setting it up for my personal finance.
15:42:10 <maurcon> One question, I use a weird currency which makes that amounts are 1m+ (sometimes 10m+), but it seems I don't know how to change the width of the last column "Balance" in the account overview.
15:42:31 <maurcon> If I drag it, it doesn't adjust

15:47:16 <maurcon> Btw using MacOs - GNUCash 4.8
15:48:24 <jralls> maurcon: The balance column trips up a lot of people because the right edge is up against the window edge. Put your mouse on the divider and when the cursor shifts to the resize one (looks sort of like <-|-> ) drag it to the right. Even though it goes out of the window it will still resize.
15:49:47 <maurcon> Thank you so much, that work actually. I've been trying it a lot, now it works....

17:14:11 <CDB-Man> [2021.12.06 10:02:40] <chris> CDB-Man: I figure this scenario is not covered by our truth table because it seems to handle >1 stock. https://old.reddit.com/r/GnuCash/comments/r7fnui/how_do_you_record_stock_cost_basis_adjustments/ and is best recorded as a SELL PARENT then BUY CHILD
17:14:22 <CDB-Man> if there is more than 1 stock, you use more than 1 transaction
17:14:28 <CDB-Man> dont try to ram it into 1 transaction
17:14:30 <CDB-Man> the table works

18:41:52 <jralls> @tell gjanssens Yes, that was the problem with the missing module. Master still doesn't build, either on my VM nor on warlords: As you can see from the several logs today, it fails for a supposed access violation while building a Scheme file; a different one every time, though always around target 675.
18:41:52 <gncbot> jralls: The operation succeeded.

19:40:44 <chris> CDB-Man: thx I hope you've used a very recent nightly to verify the table works. There's a simplification in ifrs report, and I'm 99.99999% sure it hasn't modified table behaviour.
19:41:01 <CDB-Man> i downloaded it today, so it should be recent
19:41:08 <chris> \o/
19:41:20 *** palerider has left #gnucash
19:41:29 <CDB-Man> also, i just ran today's nightly against the test gnucash file in the ticket vs the excel (also in the ticket), looks like everything works
19:41:43 <CDB-Man> so the test file and my own actual gnucash file have no anomalies thus far
19:42:02 <chris> not even rounding errors. nice.
19:42:08 <CDB-Man> well
19:42:13 <CDB-Man> it's $0.01 off from the excel :D
19:42:46 <chris> :-(
19:42:56 <chris> I'm sure you can afford it :)
19:43:21 <CDB-Man> using the test file, the BUY SPY Close Short the cumulative net profit column per report is $25,155.47 vs $25,155.48 per Excel
19:43:30 <CDB-Man> not a big deal, we can pretend we didnt see it
19:45:15 <CDB-Man> i think excel is carrying more decimals than report
19:45:22 <CDB-Man> not sure how i feel about it
19:45:36 <CDB-Man> but its only $0.01 not $1.00 so i'm not too fussed
19:46:11 <CDB-Man> ive been developing a bunch of custom reporting in excel for my own personal use
19:47:03 <chris> Report usesfractions internally so it should have high precision
19:47:22 <chris> I'll see about adding Date Entered into the transaction report, it should be doable without violating string freeze
19:47:28 <chris> gtg
19:48:10 <CDB-Man> im slightly curious where the fractioning de-syncs, so it may be worth it for you to look into that dummy transaction if you're also curious why it varies by $0.01
