06:32:22 <gjanssens> Flathub gnucash 4.8-1 works and I have used it to verify the settings fix by removing my existing flatpak settings. After starting flatpak gnucash 4.8-1, settings are properly imported from host (where I have run gnucash 4.8 before)

16:04:45 <gjanssens> fell: I think we better strongly recommend out of tree builds. In tree building is possible but with caveats. An experienced developer can do as s/he likes, but to reduce the amount of newbies shooting themselves in the foot I think it's better to advise the safest approach to those that look for help building.
