12:59:21 <jamie> hi everyone, I applied a stripe credit card payment of $200 against an invoice of $100 (using the python bindings - I may have done it in a way not possible via the UI). Now the customer shows an negative balance of $100. Then, I issued a refund of $100 via stripe and I manually created a withdrawal transaction from the stripe account against accounts receivable, but I didn't specify the client when I
12:59:27 <jamie> added it. Then I reconciled the stripe account. Now, when I right-click on the refund transaction, I don't see the option to apply it as a payment or edit the payment. Our A/R is correct, but this customer incorrectly shows an overpayment. Is there a special way to apply the refund to the customer?

12:59:55 <jamie> thanks in advance for any suggestions. And also, maybe the answer is be more careful when using python bindings?

13:56:58 <katco[m]> hey all, no question, just gratitude. my family moved our finances and our small business's finances into gnucash at the beginning of the year, and it just helped us make a major (for us) decision regarding the business. we've never felt more in control of our financial lives, and we don't have to use adware junk like mint anymore. many thanks to all the devs. the work you do benefits real people. <3

15:01:36 <warlord> katco[m], you're welcome! Thanks for the story!!!
15:02:07 <warlord> jamie, If you right-click from the A/R account, does it not allow you to "apply" it? NB, you probably should have done that BEFORE you reconciled.
15:02:21 <warlord> Worst case, unreconcile the transaction, do the apply-payment, and then re-reconcile.
15:02:59 <jamie> warlord: ok - thanks for the tip - i'll give it a try.

17:48:54 <pl0ni> After every gnucash launch I notice many entries in the log file that correspond to all the split lines in the scheduled transaction templates. Is this expected? I didn't think the scheduled transactions were considered "committed" transactions that would create entries in the log file.
