06:57:01 <gloomy-llama> I have a bunch of split transactions due to imbalances from currency conversions after importing a csv transaction, to fix it I have to split the transaction, put the full amount in the corresponding account (generally is 0 or a few cents) then the imbalance goes to 0 and i can delete the imbalance split, and everything is all right, but there are
06:57:01 <gloomy-llama> 3000+ transactions, is there a way to automate this?

11:47:56 <jralls> @tell gloomy-llama Once the transactions are in GnuCash it's too late to automate the account assignments. You can automate during import by importing in small batches and using the import matcher to assign the "other" accounts. After a few imports the matcher will have learned where most of the repeat transactions go and you'll need only check its assignments.
11:47:56 <gncbot> jralls: The operation succeeded.
12:08:08 <gjanssens> jralls: I think gloomy-llama is hitting the csv importer bug wrt to multi-currency imports. That is still not working IIRC
12:09:37 <jralls> gjanssens, Ah, I misunderstood where the imbalances were coming from.
12:10:57 <jralls> Could he work around it by laying out the necessary splits for each transaction, or is that impossible because the CSV importer can't handle prices?
12:18:20 <gjanssens> I don't remember the details. It may be possible to get it to work in multiline mode, but I'm not sure anymore. We started a discussion on the issues in https://bugs.gnucash.org/show_bug.cgi?id=796955 but I ran out of time before we could go to the bottom of that.
12:18:41 <gjanssens> And that bug is about single-line import mode, so maybe not applicable.
12:23:32 <gjanssens> Browsing the other csv importer bugs, I think the user will risk rounding errors in any case as the importer is geared towards importing a price and a value rather than a amount and a value.
12:24:29 <gjanssens> That part of the importer needs more work. And while my hands are itching I can't tell when I can make time for it.
12:25:00 <jralls> I understand. How's the construction project going?
12:25:54 <gjanssens> Fairly well. The outside part of the roof is done so it's waterproof and well isolated again.
12:26:06 <jralls> @tell gloomy-llama Sorry, it turns out that's incorrect. There's no good way at present to import multicurrency transactions from a CSV. See https://bugs.gnucash.org/show_bug.cgi?id=796955.
12:26:06 <gncbot> jralls: The operation succeeded.
12:26:55 <jralls> Insulated. But "again"? I thought you were doing new construction.
12:27:37 <gjanssens> No, this is a renovation of the workshop. There will also be a new construction, but that project is only in planning still.
12:28:10 * gjanssens had a feeling isolated was not the right term here...
12:29:15 <gjanssens> The workshop renovation still has some interior work to be done. The ceiling has to be renewed, the heatpump is not connected yet,...
12:29:28 <gjanssens> Lots of fun
12:30:08 <jralls> I know the fun well... http://habitatebsv.org
12:31:00 <jralls> We're doing a rehabilitation of a 100 year old house in Oakland right now.

13:10:31 <jralls> Indeed it is.
13:10:44 <gjanssens> Are you physically doing the construction as well, or rather managing the project ?
13:11:57 <jralls> I'm construction labor. Habitat has paid staff for project management and site supervision.

21:32:39 <noregret> a bill was posted then paid but there was a mistake so I unposted it, will the payment be credited and I should pay again?
21:37:09 <noregret> it doesn't look like the payment is credited, so now I have two payments... how can I fix it? should I just delete the relevant transactions in A/P ?

22:05:44 <chris> jralls: chartjs 3.0.1 is now out. to upgrade it *could* cause incompatibilities with webkit1.
22:06:08 <chris> jralls: one option is to install both chartjs-2 and chartjs-3, the latter to be used by sankey flow chart.
