06:22:42 <fell> Funny, http://freshmeat.sourceforge.net/projects/gnucash/ has a nice foto of Linas.
06:24:20 <fell> warlord, can you redirect https://code.gnucash.org/trac/browser/gnucash/trunk to github?

10:37:30 <warlord> fell, maybe?
10:37:37 <warlord> I'll take a look.
10:37:44 <warlord> I honestly don't even know why trac is still enabled ;)
10:39:23 <fell> The requested URL was not found on this server.

10:54:50 <gjanssens> fell: the top of the page says freshmeat is no longer updated since 2014. I'm not sure we should still care for that site.
10:55:03 <warlord> where who looks for updates?
10:55:50 <gjanssens> warlord: I remember in a distant past I have been playing with redirect rules for the gnucash website. These were on linas' server
10:55:57 <warlord> I could just redirect /trac -> github?
10:56:09 <gjanssens> That's what I was about to suggest :)
10:59:16 <warlord> So, should it redirect to github.com/gnucash or github.com/gnucash/<something>?
11:00:01 <fell> Had you docs in trac too?
11:01:41 <warlord> I dont recall.
11:01:48 <warlord> It's been years since trac was installed and working.
11:02:44 <fell> trac to https://github.com/Gnucash
11:03:16 <warlord> ok
11:03:35 <fell> or trac/browserß
11:03:42 <fell> ?
11:03:43 <warlord> Done
11:04:26 <warlord> Oh, that doesn't work.. /trac/browser -> github/.../browser, which of course does not work.

18:43:45 <chris> AdrienM: the full story for 'storing reconciliation info Y/N' is as follows:
18:44:41 <chris> 1. there were some changes to protect reconciled splits by *unreconciling* if any property was modified (with warning)
18:45:10 <chris> 2. this meant prev reconciled splits lost their reconciled_date
18:45:41 <chris> 3. to restore their original reconciled_date means re-reconciling with old statement date/amount
18:46:16 <chris> 4. today we know this is unreliable because the reconciliation date was not recorded accurately in many cases
18:46:24 <chris> 4a. public outcry
18:47:13 <chris> 5. therefore rereconciling with old statement date/amount cannot be relied upon to succeed consistently
18:48:24 <chris> 6. therefore recording old statement dates (as I wished) is not useful
18:49:01 <chris> 6a. (this last point is not set in stone, I still think there's value in recording these reconciliation data)

20:16:43 <smelly-pangolin> hello, im trying to import a csv transaction file using 2 currencies, but the price field is not correctly read as the calculated amount is different, and also get "new unbalanced (need acct to transfer) and if I click the account column, then get has a different commodity to the one required
20:17:21 <smelly-pangolin> i even tried to format the file as an export of the account look (2 rows per transaction) but it just crashes with "too many root sets, aborted (core dumped)"

21:18:26 <smelly-pangolin> when i add a multi currency transaction manually, gnucash just popups a dialog for the currency conversion and then adds the info without a split, i need to do the same with a csv import, i have all the data that would be enter manually, but there are too many rows, but have no idea how to properly format it without creating a split transaction

23:26:13 <smelly-pangolin> anyone can help me with importing a transaction csv that uses 2 currencies, 1 for the source account, and a different one for the transfer account, i need the exchange to be read from the file, without doing a split to imbalance and using the correct currency amount in the transfer, i have all the data, but importer is not matching it correctly
23:27:20 <warlord> smelly-pangolin, I dont know if that is supported.
23:28:16 <smelly-pangolin> i have 2000 rows to import, there must be a way to do it other than manually, no?
23:32:03 <smelly-pangolin> the gnucash exporter generates a file similar to:
23:32:03 <smelly-pangolin> Date,Transaction ID,Description,Commodity/Currency,Full Account Name,Account Name,Amount Num.,Rate/Price
23:32:03 <smelly-pangolin> 05/02/2020,21939db2614942fca0a594ca0cb2bbd6,2020-21,CURRENCY::USD,Liabilities:Credit Cards:D:,Sph,-4162.84,1
23:32:03 <smelly-pangolin> ,,,,Expenses:Education:COP,Fee,15500000,104071/387500000
23:32:03 <smelly-pangolin> I formatted the rows to import to match that format, but it just doesn't work when I try it
23:38:39 <warlord> smelly-pangolin, what version of gnucash?
23:38:50 <warlord> For a while, gnucash could not import the data it exported.
23:39:39 <smelly-pangolin> 4.4
