06:29:25 <ErikSchillingAblu[m]> Hello, I recently reinstalled my computer which seems to have removed the AqBanking HBCI connection. I now reconfigured HBCI in the Online Banking Wizard (I get my list of accounts there, so I assume it works) and remapped the relevant account to my existing gnucash account (which I used for this before). However, I now get: "Online action "Get Transactions" not available for this account." Is the mapping in the Online Banking
06:29:25 <ErikSchillingAblu[m]> Wizard not enough?

12:18:10 <jralls> fell, yyoshino, it looks like we have a problem with Japanese: Taniguchi is still working on it.
12:20:12 <fell> The last, I see in https://translationproject.org/latest/gnucash/?C=M;O=D is 22-07-25
12:20:20 <fell> 2020
12:20:55 <jralls> fell, All of the languages marked TP on http://translationproject.org/domain/gnucash.html are excluded in the Language Filter on https://hosted.weblate.org/settings/gnucash/gnucash/#files.
12:21:29 <fell> yes, I found it and removed ja
12:22:27 <jralls> 6 months is pretty current by TP standards.
12:23:40 <fell> https://github.com/Gnucash/gnucash/commits/maint/po/ja.po
12:24:13 *** jervin has joined #gnucash
12:24:39 <jralls> Yes, I know how to look at history on Github. What's your point?
12:25:17 <fell> only to compare the lists
12:25:28 <jralls> Compare what lists?
12:27:09 <jralls> From the numbers on http://translationproject.org/domain/gnucash.html it looks like Taniguchi updated his translation for 3.2, 3.10, 3.905, and massively for 4.0.
12:36:05 *** Mechtilde has joined #gnucash
12:36:06 <jralls> So we've got a mess. TP thinks ja is theirs and they're actively working on it. yyoshino thinks it's his and he's working on it. Now you've added a Weblate page and no doubt will start to accumulate translations there.
12:40:06 <jralls> TP doesn't do collaboration, they don't even see changes we make to the po files, and in fact consider such changes an affront.
12:44:39 <jralls> warlord, gjanssens, fell, chris, re https://lists.gnucash.org/pipermail/gnucash-user/2020-December/094452.html I want to reply to tell him to give his money to someone more in need, like a nearby food bank. Any thoughts?
12:47:43 <gjanssens> jralls: that's reasonable, though for transparency you can add we currently don't spend much of the money donated, except for the occasional hardware purchase. It's not going to developers directly.
12:47:46 <fell> TP is like a closed shop and only msgmerge from the tarbal into their versions. It is a great honour, that they announced the trailing colon (:) strip.
12:48:34 <jralls> gjanssens, Yes, I had that in mind as well.
12:49:53 <fell> They are much to busy to decide such things. ;-)
12:49:53 <jralls> fell, Yup. They even generate their own gnucash.pot.

12:50:54 *** ChanServ sets mode: +v sbluhm
12:51:30 * gjanssens likes the weblate infrastructure so far. How much active translations do we get from tp ?
12:52:23 <gjanssens> If weblate effectively lowers the barrier to translation contributions, we may encourage its use over tp.
12:52:33 <fell> gjanssens, see my first tp link above
12:52:39 <gjanssens> But that's to be evaluated somewhere in the future
12:53:29 <fell> 4 files/year
12:53:53 <gjanssens> It's not clear if those contributors are really tied to tp or just use it as that's the best we could offer so far for a non-dev
12:54:37 <gjanssens> But let's continue the experiment a bit longer before drawing conclusions :)
12:54:45 <fell> E.g. Pedro switched recently to TP, but suggested before weblate.
12:55:24 <jralls> fell, no, 4 active translators this year + 3 last year and 4 more in 2018 (5 if you count nl, but that translator dropped out and it's now on weblate).
12:56:30 <fell> Keep in mind uk and pt pushed more often.
12:58:27 <jralls> Well, pt is TP only in the last couple of months. Uk and ro have been pretty active with multiple updates this year. Ja had two as I noted earlier.
13:05:10 <jralls> I agree with gjanssens that we need a few months experience with weblate before we start burning bridges with TP. If weblate works out then I'd go first for the long time inactive languages like cs, eu, and rw.
13:06:49 <jralls> And pt is up to Pedro. If he'd rather use weblate then he can initiate switching.
13:08:06 <jralls> But right now we need to smooth things over with yyoshino and Taniguchi. I don't think opening ja to weblate is likely to help that.
13:20:53 <fell> yyoshino, can you talk with Taniguchi, and perhaps the new guy, andd find a solution?
13:28:53 <fell> jralls, we could add a note here: https://hosted.weblate.org/projects/gnucash/gnucash/ja/#announcement
13:30:17 <jralls> You could, but I think it would be better to leave ja on the excluded list until we get TP status sorted out.
13:31:39 <jralls> BTW, the Japanese are probably all asleep, it's 0230 there. And I'll be leaving shortly for 3-4 hours.
13:32:45 <fell> I will leave soon, too. I am here since 15h.
13:33:25 <fell> Warning or danger?
13:34:17 <jralls> If you insist on leaving ja open, Danger.
13:35:26 <fell> https://hosted.weblate.org/projects/gnucash/gnucash/ja/
13:36:02 <jralls> I suppose that we should also put an announcement on the GnuCash/Program about TP-controlled languages and that users interested in translating those should apply to the respective TP teams.
13:36:57 <fell> OK
13:38:21 <jralls> I don't think that's strong enough. Something more like "Using weblate for translating Japanese is under review. Please do not contribute any translations at this time."
13:39:44 <fell> I am tired now. Just go for it!
13:41:00 <jralls> I see how to add an announcement. How the heck do I edit or remove one?

18:08:54 <jralls_afk> fell, correct.
18:10:32 <jralls_afk> chris, Ah, your own github repo. Of course. You need to do this:https://docs.github.com/en/free-pro-team@latest/github/authenticating-to-github/connecting-to-github-with-ssh
18:15:46 <jralls_afk> Then `git remote set-url origin ssh://github.com/christopherlam/gnucash`.
18:55:36 <yyoshino> jralls, fell: Sorry for the ja.po TP mess. Actually Taniguchi is no longer working, and I have uploaded all the updated ja.po files since 2018 "on behalf of" Taniguchi, adding Copyright lines at the beginning of the file, keeping his name in the Last-Translator line, while I *know* it is a bad idea.
18:55:50 <yyoshino> In December 2018, I have translated many strings in ja.po and emailed to Taniguchi for review, and he said he does no longer work on it and kindly agreed to take it over to me.
18:56:05 <yyoshino> Then I have emailed to the coordinator of TP Japanese team to add me as a Translator. However, perhaps he seems too busy and he has just said "you just try to upload the PO".
18:56:10 <yyoshino> And I was new in TP and PO at this time and I have accidentally uploaded the file with Last-Translator line unchanged, which has been accepted with name "Taniguchi".
18:56:18 <yyoshino> After that, I have corrected the Last-Translator line with my name and uploaded, which of course has been rejected by TP: "because you are not a member".
18:56:25 <yyoshino> The coordinator is unresponsive thus I am still not included in the list https://translationproject.org/team/ja.html
18:56:32 <yyoshino> Since then as a workaround I reluctantly upload ja.po with the Last-Translator line unchanged.
