08:13:13 <warlord> andreas^, did your email make it to the list? Or was it moderated? What was the email subject ?
08:13:33 <andreas^> warlord: it's moderated, I remember now.
08:13:39 <andreas^> must be stuck there.
08:13:52 <andreas^> email subject "introduction".
08:14:15 <andreas^> do you have women in your dev team?
08:17:03 <warlord> The email moderator is Liz. I assume Liz is a woman.
08:17:13 <warlord> As far as I know, however, none of the devs are women.
08:17:50 <warlord> If is it moderated, then Liz will get to it in the next 24 hours. She usually checks once a day.

13:10:54 <jralls> Is it really a beta or did he just stick that on the end out of habit?
13:11:50 <jralls> As for make test in one or more F::Q components, that's probably because gjanssens short-circuited cpan to save time.
13:15:14 <fell> He changed AQBANKING_VERSION_TAG="stable" to "beta", butt I do not understand his system as libchipcard is a rc since january.

14:28:36 <gjanssens> fell, jralls: would you consider it useful to run 'make test' while building finance::quote ? As jralls suggests I don't think that's something that should happen while packaging for flatpak.
14:29:04 <gjanssens> If it should, we should also run the test suites of all of our other dependencies.
14:33:08 <fell> gjanssen: No, we can keep it as it is at least as long as there are no patch sets applied.
14:34:19 <jralls> Heavens, no. That would take forever.
14:34:47 <gjanssens> Glad we see it the same way :)

14:38:35 <fell> jralls, I commented on Martins answer.
14:39:13 <jralls> fell: I saw. I'm amused at his beta test community.
14:40:49 <jralls> Anyway, I think we should hold off merging it until after the release. It can go into the nightlies for Monday and you can recruit some more testers on gnucash-de.
14:41:05 <fell> But they cover the most important banks. ;-)
14:41:45 <jralls> Well, certainly the most important users! ;-)
14:42:21 <fell> I will create PR's and one of use can merge them after the release is finished.

17:56:58 <Robert847> Running GnuCash 3.8 in Linux Lite "gnucash --logto=stderr --nofile", with 3GB RAM the progrram doesn't crash or get killed but there is a warning that appears, I believe, either when I do a File>Save or File>Save As: WARN <gnc.backend> [GncXmlBackend::write_to_file()] unable to chmod filename /run/user/1000/gvfs/smb-share: server=192.168.{hidden}.{hidden},share={censored}{filename}.gnucash.tmp-{hidden}: Operation not supported.

21:37:25 <fell> Robert847, from "gvfs/smb-share" you are using an SMB network. Then you have to read how to adjust access rights there.
21:41:02 <fell> The purpose of SMB: you can share resources between windows and linux engines.
21:43:23 <fell> Currently server=192.168.{hidden} does not grant the rights to the machine, where gnucash is running.
21:48:02 <fell> Probably you granted rights to your physical machine, but not your VM, which usually has another name and IP.
22:19:36 *** Agfarmer18 has quit IRC
23:32:58 *** storyjesse has joined #gnucash
23:44:11 <Robert847> My VM has to log in to that network resource before GnuCash can work with those files. Isn't that what you mean by granting rights?
23:48:36 <Robert847> I see the expected backup files and updated data file in that directory, so I think it may be ok unless the files are not really updated
23:54:26 <Robert847> I imagine GnuCash normally goes through a few steps of creating and re-naming temporary files in the process of making bakups. Maybe it just uses a different way of getting there when working with network shares. I know some file managers have conniptions trying to find network shares.
