I tried using the help guide, it led me to try Edit > preferences > Windows > Width , but that didn't change what I'm trying to change. how do I adjust the width of columns on the account tree?

Register2 is an attempt to rewrite the register using GtkTreeView instead of the ancient hand-made tree view code in gnucash/register. It still needs work so it's hidden from users by default.
