13:13:47 <gnu_fan> hello Actions > Online Actions > Get Transactions was working just fine. But now when I try to update one of my accounts it says "Error on Executing Job Status Enqueued (1)". I tried closing and restarting GNUCash, and logging off and logging back in to clear the error with no luck. How do I get it to work?
13:24:43 <jralls_laptop> That's not a perl or GnuCash message, so it must be coming from your OS. Google doesn't turn up anything helpful. What is the OS/Distro?

15:05:30 <fell> gnu_fan, can you test, if the error still appears in a recent version of Gnucash, e.g. 4.0 from flatpak?
15:05:35 <jralls_afk> Just did a download to compare. The next message is 'Locking customer "8"'. So I guess the first thing to check is ~/.aqbanking/settings6. Make sure that the directory is writable (probably is because the other bank works), that all of the files are readable, and that there's no users/00000008.conf.lck.XXXX.local-yyyyyy where XXXX is the hostname and yyyy is a pid.

15:12:47 <jralls> fell, that's about empty transactions. It's a lot further along than gnu_fan is getting.
15:14:32 <gnu_fan> I verified that settings6 is read/write, found some lock files from a month ago and deleted them, opened gnucash to try again - same error

17:31:32 <jralls> gnu_fan, I found in the Gwenhywfar sources that error -51 is "not found", and it looks in this case that it applies to either the user or the bank account. 17:45:07 <fell> Yes, at least for HBCI there was an in bbetween fixed issue, that one of the setup steps had to be done twice.
18:19:04 <gnu_fan1> guys I sincerely appreciate your help the reason i take so long in between things is because I'm trying to watch a sick 16 month old baby
18:22:22 <jralls> gnu_fan1, No problem, I'm just keeping an eye on the IRC window while I work on other stuff. I hope the kid is only a little bit sick.

18:30:36 <gnu_fan1> ok went into the AQBanking setup. I found that it was all messed up. One of my users was completely missing I have no idea how that happened. So I created a new user. And it logged in and it said "The server successfully processed the request" and then it had a list of accounts in the log, which matched my actual bank accounts, and then it said "Operation Finished, you can now close this window"
18:30:56 <gnu_fan1> So i clicked close, and then OK, then I went over to the
18:31:40 <gnu_fan1> accounts page, and none of the accounts it found showed up there? So how do I get the list of retrieved accounts to show up on the accounts tab so that I can progress through the wizard?
18:37:00 <fell> Isn't "Match online accounts with Gnucash accounts" (step3) in the online banking setup?
18:38:10 <gnu_fan1> The "Next" button is greyed out
18:39:44 <jralls> Because the accounts didn't transfer. Try going back to the AQBanking set up, edit the user, and on the bank settings tab click "retrieve account list" again.

18:43:58 <jralls> Good, but did it fill in the accounts tab on the AQBanking Setup dialog?
18:44:19 <gnu_fan1> no it is still blank, I tried to upload a screenshot but it is definitely blank
18:46:18 <jralls> Do you have the information available to create at least one of the accounts by hand? For OFX you need the routing id and account number.
18:46:50 <gnu_fan1> oh yes Ihave all that how do I create one by hand? is that like making a text file? I just need a template
18:50:30 <jralls> On the accounts tab just click the create account button. The only thing I find non-obvious about the dialog is that the routing id goes in the bank code entry.
18:52:07 <gnu_fan1> doing it now
18:58:55 <gnu_fan1> it flashed a warning "unable to update account spec" but it let me click through and match it to a gnucash account. Then I went back to GNU Cash and tried to run. It cleared the original error message! This is progress! But I have a new error
18:59:37 <gnu_fan1> it says it didn't recognize the account number, but hold on I have an idea about that
19:03:41 <gnu_fan1> ok i had to prefix the account # in aqbanking account setup with a zero, I figured that out by looking at the log of retrieved accounts.
19:04:34 <gnu_fan1> Then I went to gnucash to try again, and it failed but I noticed it said user 52 and my account is actually 54! No idea why it switched, but I switched it back and it at least got the balance. So I'm trying on a different account now.
19:12:56 <gnu_fan1> ok after many different tries I was able to get one account working! this is tedious but it's progress!
19:19:23 <gnu_fan1> ok now I'm trying to figure out why I can get one account working but not the other one with what looks like the exact same settings?
19:20:29 <jralls> Do you have the same number of digits in the account number?
19:21:42 <jralls> And what is failing with the second account?
19:23:32 <gnu_fan1> yes it has the same number of digits, I prefixed it with a zero
19:24:00 <gnu_fan1> I got so frustrated I did mv .aqbanking/ .aqbanking_backup/ and am trying to start completely from scratch
19:24:31 <gnu_fan1> is this easier with newer versions of GNUcash or on different operating systems?
19:26:44 <jralls> No, it's only easier when the account retrieval populates the accounts. Sometimes the OFXHome info is out of date and it takes an insane amount of fiddling even to get the user to work.
19:27:27 <jralls> And of course the bank's support folks will only talk to you if you're using Quicken.
19:28:06 <gnu_fan1> what do you mean by ofx home info?
19:31:19 <jralls> The Select button on the OFX DirectConnect Setup Wizard uses data from https://ofxhome.com.
19:32:06 <jralls> If your bank isn't in there or if the data there is out of date then you have to fill out the wizard by hand.
19:32:31 <jralls> And finding the necessary information can be difficult.
19:44:21 <jralls> Time to go.
19:44:27 *** jralls is now known as jralls_afk
19:52:07 <gnu_fan1> ok I got it working! Here are the steps that finally worked. #1 with help of this forum, identified that my aqbanking setup had become corrupted. Possibly by accidently deleting a user account or some other mysterious problem #2 closed gnu cash and renamed my .aqbanking folder to .aqbanking_backup- this step essentially reset by aqbanking setup. #3 reopened gnu cash and very carefully followed the NEW instructions for USAA account setup
19:52:07 <gnu_fan1> someone had posted at https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/OFX_Direct_Connect_Bank_Settings#USAA . After that, I was able to download transactions and balances for all my USAA accounts.
19:52:35 <gnu_fan1> This was extremely tedious and difficult but in my opinion it is worth it because there is no other app like GNUCASH that helps me really track my finances.

20:33:20 <fell> but probably more important: improve the wiki, if it not clear formulated.
20:39:38 <gnu_fan1> ok I dropped some beer money into your paypal account with IHTFP consulting. I will donate again in the future and if I get really rich I'll load you guys up! GNUCASH is awesome!

20:41:57 <greatest_fan_of_gnu> I had seen this https://www.gnucash.org/donate.phtml website for donations before but the way it's worded there it sounds like that is just for paying off server expenses, so that is why I asked in chat to be sure my donation goes to wherever you guys really want it
21:25:09 <warlord> greatest_fan_of_gnu, thank you. We use the tip-jar money for various things. We've done xmas bonuses for devs; we've bought server equipment; we're planning to buy a code-signing (OV) cert... but you're right that often times we don't know, as a team, how to spend the tip-jar money.
