12:09:37 <chris> to gjanssens/jralls - regarding the budget-liability and budget-future-unreversed issue, I am thinking of a radical solution: revert all the changes made in budgets since 3.7, forget the unreversed-budgets feature, and restore 3.7 in both editor and viewer. basically throw it all away and try again after 4.x. use a different feature name.

13:15:59 <finster> so, I resolved my perl problem from yesterday wrt to the gnc-fq-* scripts. At the end of the day a perl installation coming from homebrew was interfering. I fixed it manually by changing the shebang from #!/usr/bin/perl -w to #!/usr/bin/env perl -w

Meanwhile Homebrew, MacPorts, and (worst of all) Fink strive to create a Linux subsystem that overrides your MacOS one. If you want a Linux box, get a Linux box or install a Linux VM. Mixing the environments just creates headaches like the one you just experienced.
