04:07:13 <irctc616> Does GnuCash track depreciation? That's the functionality making me consider upgrading from spreadsheets.

05:29:55 <JohanSmits[m]> I'm looking on how to generate the tax overview for a certain period. In The Netherlands I need to report every quarter the tax (BV) but I can't find out how to create a report for this.

05:56:30 <chris> try the Income-GST-Statement report, and ask user mailing list

06:06:53 <fell> JohanSmits[m] That is a similar task like in DE. There we have a partial implementation in the account template SKR04, which then uses the tax report options.
06:07:20 <fell> So there are 2 different approaches in gnucash.

11:40:26 <chris> re: 797659 unfortunately I truly believe that my candidate fix (at least for current datafiles) is correct. this is supported by comment 11. for unreversed_budgets, the code is also much simpler.
11:40:51 <chris> the end result in this candidate fix is:
11:41:34 <chris> existing budgets should behave similar to 3.7 or earlier if sign-reversal=credit-accounts; amount signs don't change with preference
11:42:01 <chris> featured budgets are now sensitive to sign-reversal, however, they accurately reflect the underlying natural amount changes.
11:44:26 <chris> but like most changes they would take some getting used to and sound explanation why they've changed
11:44:52 <chris> the aim is that 'budget to zero' still works irrespective of sign-reversal property

11:57:55 <jralls> chris, Yes, a bunch of merge conflicts. I started on it, then https://bugs.gnucash.org/show_bug.cgi?id=797679 came and I decided to fix that first. I'll merge up with those fixes today.

12:09:09 <jralls> chris, maybe it's better to shift the budget upgrade to 5.0. There's only one more 3.x release for backwards compatibility and you're not getting enough support from the users who care about budgets to make it bulletproof.
