07:26:55 <Dezgo> Hi there. I'm trying to import transactions using CSV. I'm wondering why it won't auto-match accounts when I have the exact same account name in my CSV and GNUCash? See https://imgur.com/q3Av7nn
07:27:53 *** PowaBanga has quit IRC
07:28:19 <Dezgo> Note, the matched ones in the image are ones I matched myself
07:33:46 *** fabior has quit IRC
07:35:03 <gjanssens> Dezgo: probably because this was never implemented...
07:36:43 <Dezgo> Yeah okay fair enough. I realise it's not just going to work without someone writing that, but I just assumed there'd be SOME level of matching going on, and that would be the simplest
07:37:10 <Dezgo> If it matches in any other way, I could update my CSV to put that right data in so it matches
07:37:50 *** jim has joined #gnucash
07:44:57 <chris> gjanssens: I realize I didn't test PR #685 on win32 - is it too late to build and test?
07:46:10 <chris> Dezgo: OFX&QIF have facility to store the mapping, not CSV

07:48:03 *** fell has quit IRC
07:48:05 <Dezgo> Chris: So if I upload in OFX / QIF I'll be able to specify the account?
07:48:36 <Dezgo> ... and have GNUCash automatically recognise it without having to go through that manual matching process
07:48:45 <chris> you'll do it once then it should remember
07:49:05 <Dezgo> ah ok. I think that's the same as the CSV. I do it once, then next time it remembers anyway

07:51:50 *** ramontjunior has joined #gnucash
07:54:39 <gjanssens> chris: CSV will also store the account mapping. But it won't guess the first time.
07:55:28 <gjanssens> Dezgo: automatic account guessing would be a nice feature, I do agree.
07:55:44 <gjanssens> Needs quite a bit of work to do right though.
07:56:25 <gjanssens> chris: re #685, you'll have to take this up with jralls when he appears. I can't start a build right now.
07:56:53 <chris> Ok I don't know if the release process is automatic or manual
07:59:06 <Dezgo> gjanssens: I'm talking out of school not having any idea of the codebase, but I would have thought some sort of fuzzy matching would be tricky, but an exact match would be reasonably trivial? In my case I'm generating the CSV though Excel VBA so have full control over what appears in that account column and can easily pass an exact match
07:59:25 <Dezgo> tbh it's probably not a biggie if it remembers my choice once I've matched it manually once, it'd just be a nice to have

12:36:34 <jralls> gjanssens, It looks like you haven't yet updated the instructions for getting a flatpak ready for distribution.
12:37:33 <jralls> chris, the release process is mostly manual, see https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Release_Process.

19:58:40 <jralls> OK.
20:00:16 <jralls> Another weird thing: The bundle script named the release gnucash-3.9.setup.exe and overwrote the one from two weeks ago in code's builds/win32/releases. I downloaded it and ran it and it claims to be 3.10 on launch so I've renamed it and I'm proceeding.
20:00:45 <jralls> I don't see anything about the script that would do that.
20:05:18 <warlord> I have no idea. That's gjanssens' area.
20:05:23 <warlord> gotta run
