14:47:44 <jralls> chris How would "having a payment into bank from different customers" be possible if those different customers don't themselves share a bank account to source the payment?
15:09:31 <warlord> jralls, I think it's more multiple customers give you checks and you deposit those checks as one deposit, then you import bank's transactions into gnucash and file them back to the biz features.
15:09:44 <warlord> So you have 1 txn AR->Bank
15:09:52 <warlord> But you want to apply that to 3 different customers in AR
15:10:10 <warlord> Even if you make a 3-way AR split, apparently it wont let you assign to different customers because it's one transaction.
15:13:16 <jralls> warlord: Huh. My bank records each check as a separate deposit even if there's only one deposit slip.

18:29:17 <jralls> chris, git is telling me that there's no such commit in gnucash or gnucash-on-windows. Can you check the sha1?
18:30:07 <shaggy> Hi, I'm looking for help in creating a windows dev environment, I tried following the Building on Windows. jhbuild gets stuck on first compile gnutls not found.
18:35:28 <jralls> shaggy, likely a hole in setup_mingw64.ps1. We relied on mingw-w64-i686-webkitgtk3 to pull it in but the MSYS2 project dropped support for webkit so we provide our own package. That doesn't work as well with the dependencies.
18:36:22 <jralls> shaggy, try running `pacman -S mingw-w64-i686-libsoup`. That should also pull in glib-networking and gnutls.
18:41:41 <shaggy> tried that, 42 packages installed. Still no dice on the build.
18:42:20 <shaggy> I had tried pacman on gnutls itself prior.
18:42:27 *** omnireq has quit IRC
18:42:42 <shaggy> And it looks to me like it was installed, I don't know jhbuild at all to know where to look.
18:44:18 <jralls> Do you know MinGW-W64 development in-depth?
18:44:45 <shaggy> no, i've only used it very lightly in the past
18:45:38 <jralls> Then what do you hope to accomplish with a windows build environment?
18:46:03 <chris> jralls oops
18:46:20 <chris> t's commit 983c7ce0
18:46:42 <chris> downloading old windows releases was the easiest way to bisect
18:46:48 <shaggy> I can change code locally through other means and then compile via MINGW64 to test, was my thought.
18:48:28 <chris> don't know what QIF field is empty in 796579's qif causing import failure. devel's QIF has empty S field.
18:48:56 <chris> I suspect reverting 796579 and fixing "" handling somewhere else is the right fix
18:49:07 <chris> gtg now.
18:50:12 <jralls> chris, maybe.
18:52:42 <jralls> shaggy, OK, but GnuCash is written in POSIX so if you're primarily a Windows programmer you'll have a steep learning curve.
18:52:55 *** storyjesse has joined #gnucash
18:55:08 <shaggy> I'll manage, I've coded for 11 years on support cross platform windows/linux software.
18:57:16 <jralls> Ok, you should be fine. Jhbuild is looking for gnutls.pc and it should be in /mingw32/lib/pkgconfig. Is it?
18:57:16 <shaggy> I'm primarily interested in bug 796955.
18:58:59 <shaggy> yes it is there
18:59:56 <jralls> Did you by any chance tell setup_mingw64.ps1 to set up a 64-bit environment instead of a 32-bit one?
19:00:07 *** storyjesse has quit IRC
19:00:23 <shaggy> yes, I did setup for 64 bit
19:00:29 <shaggy> is that my problem?
19:01:07 *** ElonSatoshi[m] has joined #gnucash
19:01:38 <jralls> If you installed gnutls to mingw32 then yes, that's your problem. You need to run pacman -S mingw-w64-x86_64-libsoup.
19:01:49 *** Couto[m] has joined #gnucash
19:02:27 <jralls> But more difficult you'll also need to create mingw-w64-x86_64-webkitgtk3, which isn't simple.
19:02:38 *** peter-butler[m] has joined #gnucash
19:03:30 <jralls> Or maybe not. Wait a minute...
19:05:22 <jralls> No, the code in setup_mingw64.ps1 made me over-optimistic, but I remembered correctly that I'd built only an i686 webkit.
19:06:05 <shaggy> unfortunately real life is calling, I'll be back this weekend. It did make progress, now its halting at OpenSP.
19:06:29 <shaggy> system 'mingw64' not recognized.
19:07:23 <jralls> More context please...

19:20:57 *** hussam has quit IRC
19:23:53 <jralls> shaggy, I've added what I think are the missing dependencies to setup_mingw64.ps1. I suggest that you start over with a fresh pull of gnucash-on-windows and set up this time for i686. Building webkit isn't much fun and it takes a long time.
