There's the procedure browser (API reference-like thingy built in to GIMP itself). And all one has to learn is a either Python or TinyScheme. I wish it were that simple with GNUCash too. But still, thank you very much. I will try to poke around with that and see where I reach while waiting for my mail to be approved by the moderator. :)

Logging into an account which has never run gnucash i get the same result as with my usual account with all the messy history. gsettings get org.gnucash.general force-price-decimal
