00:18:29 <fell> jralls: FYI I have sent an announcement and request to test of the online-id patch on gnucash-de.
00:18:29 <gncbot> fell: Sent 7 hours and 9 minutes ago: <chris> gnc:multiline-to-html-text is mainly used to add <br/> to multiline fields e.g. customer address. So IMO <br/> is very appropriate.

08:11:44 <warlord> fell, The logs should be available, no?
08:12:39 <warlord> But my guess is DNS/Network issues; those seem to be happening frequently over there and I can't figure out why. I really need to migrate my stuff. UPS box arrives today (via UPS!) so I should be able to start wiring up those systems, finally.
08:30:41 <fell> warlord, there is only the stub https://code.gnucash.org/builds/flatpak/build-logs/build-maint-2020-01-03-01-00-02.log
08:31:11 <warlord> fell, I can go run the build by hand and see what happens?
08:31:23 <fell> Yes
08:31:54 <fell> That is, what I wanted to suggest.
08:32:24 <fell> The build here almost finished.
08:33:18 <fell> finished with out errors
08:33:42 <warlord> fell, running here.
08:34:03 <fell> Thanks
08:34:24 <warlord> My guess is still a network blip.
08:34:29 <warlord> Those seem to happen a lot overnight..
08:34:40 <fell> I assume it, too.
08:34:41 <warlord> Even my local caching nameservers seem to "fail" to perform DNS lookups.
08:34:56 <warlord> I really have no idea what's going on, but it's very hard to debug remotely.

09:19:47 <warlord> fell, looks like maint completed successfully. Let me re-try master
09:39:16 <warlord> ... and that finished, too. So the overnight failure is probably a local networking issue.
09:46:27 <fell> It seems so. In between I have also run my local build without issues.

11:09:01 <peco> Hi
11:10:25 <peco> We have gnucash installed on a network drive and 3 people have access. When one person opens the program the account type is set to Asset, when two of the other people open it, the same account is listed as Liability. Any idea why that happens?
11:27:08 <warlord> The account type of which account?
11:27:38 <warlord> When each user opens the data file, they could have different accounts (from the same datafile/book) opened.
11:28:31 <warlord> GnuCash will re-open whatever windows/registers were open when they shut down, but that information is stored locally and not in the shared location. So each user will have different "prefs" (which includes last-used file and last-opened windows/registers/etc.)
11:30:13 <peco> An expenditure account shows as account type Liability for one person and shows as Asset for another
11:31:32 <peco> shouldn't the account type be the same for all users?
11:32:03 <warlord> peco, that still doesn't make sense. I'm thinking a vocabulary issue here.
11:32:13 <warlord> Yes, the data file should be the same for all users.
11:32:36 <warlord> But let's start earlier -- you open the data file and you get the Chart of Accounts. Is that the same for all users?
11:32:45 <peco> yes
11:33:10 <warlord> Okay. Now give me a click-by-click direction for where something looks different, please?
11:33:47 <warlord> For example: user a opens the register for account Assets:Foo and goes to the last entry in the register and... etc.
11:34:55 <peco> when one person clicks on the Expendictures line and edits the account, it shows as an Asset type. When another person does the same thing the account type shows as Liability. This is also reflected when double clicking Expenditures and the new tab opens - one person sees the balance as incrementing and the other sees it as decreasing.
11:37:21 <chris> peco: screenshots would be very useful.
11:40:14 <peco> I'll get screen shots. Other 2 individuals are out of office for a few minutes. Will provide soon.
11:40:42 <chris> if every one clicks the exact same part, they should be identical
11:40:57 <peco> yes, that is what I think too

11:48:23 <warlord> chris, no worry, I was going to ask for a screenshot soon, because "when one person clicks on the Expenditures line" doesn't seem to make sense to me, and I don't know how/where there is any "type" showing..
12:06:04 <peco> the person with different account types is still out of the office. I can send screen shots showing one person with accounts as positive numbers and another with negative numbers. Would that help?
12:06:27 <chris> sure
12:06:36 <chris> imgur.com is perfect

12:15:42 <chris> ensure Edit>Preferences>Accounts>Reversed Balance accounts settings are the same in all 3 people
12:15:49 <chris> your datafile is fine
12:23:01 <peco> thanks! that takes care of the numbers issue. When the other person gets back I will put up screen shots of account types being different. May not be for a couple hours.

16:26:14 <warlord> Apparently OFX is broken in AqB6
16:28:05 <jralls> And of course on BofA. https://www.ofxhome.com/index.php/institution/view/635 says that it hasn't worked since 2015.
