14:33:52 <fell> jralls: I just got a report from a german windows user, who downloaded gnucash-3.7-2019-11-17-git-3.7-224-gde09259f1+.setup.exe
14:34:26 <fell> running aqbanking-cli.exe versions results in:
14:34:34 <fell> Versions:
14:34:35 <fell> AqBanking-CLI: 5.99.43
14:34:37 <fell> Gwenhywfar : 4.99.24.1
14:34:38 <fell> AqBanking : 5.99.43.0
14:35:59 <fell> Do we need to push somthing into gnucash-on windows, to get our last change onto github?
14:42:17 <jralls> Tried a work-around, to pull from code. Got access denied, which surprised me because the builder-user on the VM can scp the logs and setup.exes to code.
14:44:00 <jralls> So yeah, I guess we need to make a BS commit to kick it.

15:15:36 <fell> IIRC you had to use powershell
15:16:21 <jralls> Yeah, that was what I looked at. I thought it had built OK but it hadn't.

17:36:23 <jralls> fell: Well, I tracked down the libchipcard problem to ${gwenhywfar_plugins} getting set to an N$Win-style path, i.e. starting with C: instead of /c. But there's a kicker: It happens on my VM but not on warlord's.
17:52:54 <jralls> @tell gjanssens Your rewiring of gwenhhywfar-config to use pkg-config breaks the libchipcard build on MinGW/jhbuild because pkg-config on that platform converts the MSYS-paths to Win32 ones. Unforunately libchipcard wants to install its card modules--which are static libs--into the gwenhywfar_plugins dir.
17:52:54 <gncbot> jralls: The operation succeeded.
17:56:15 <jralls> @tell gjanssens That would be OK except that jhbuild wants to install to a DESTDIR and the install step of course concatenates $DESTDIR + $gwenhywfar_plugins, producing a path that looks like $PREFIX/_jhbuild/root_libchipcardC:/gcdev64... Amazingly install has no trouble with it, but ranlib chokes on it.
17:56:15 <gncbot> jralls: The operation succeeded.
18:05:34 <jralls> @tell gjanssens fell Fortunately when testing on the build-VM I built libchipcard-5.1.4rc1 without building gwenhywfar-4.99.25rc9 first, so it succeeded. That makes fixing it isn't an emergency. That's fortunate because I'm not sure what's the best way to fix it.
18:05:34 <gncbot> jralls: The operation succeeded.
18:06:15 <jralls> @tell gjanssens /isn't an/not an/
18:06:15 <gncbot> jralls: The operation succeeded.

19:01:19 <jralls> Cool. No such option on Mojave's cp.
19:02:08 <mohave> :-)
19:02:11 <mohave> :-(
19:02:12 <jralls> Have you looked at the volume layout on Catalina? It's very different, I think to support sharing free space across volumes.
19:03:49 <jralls> There was an issue with the betas over the summer where it wasn't counting right and would think that the disk was nearly full when it wasn't. That was especially annoying when it wouldn't allow an upgrade to happen.
19:04:40 <mohave> Yes, awesome! I used to be a Solaris admin, where we had ZFS. APFS has many of the features of ZFS. Too bad Apple didn't just adopt ZFS, but I guess there were licensing restrictions that Apple didn't wan't to deal with.

19:08:33 <jralls> Maybe. CDDL has patent provisions and Apple is apparently quite allergic to those.
19:11:27 <mohave> Agree, but apparently Apple has quite the ability to "reinvent the wheel!" TNC
19:12:10 <jralls> But there might have been technical issues as well related to Mach's microkernel.
19:14:42 <mohave> Agree, but if Sun could work through them, certainly Apple (at least at this point) could have worked though them.
19:15:56 <mohave> Still no clue, why Apple didn't step up to the plate
19:16:48 <jralls> Was Solaris based on Mach? I thought that it was a straight-up BSD4 port.
19:25:25 <mohave> Agree, was BSD, the transitioned to SYS5
19:26:07 <mohave> s/the/then/
19:32:32 <jralls> Both conventional monolithic kernals like Linux.
19:34:03 <jralls> If you're curious about the technical details you might look through https://developer.apple.com/support/downloads/Apple-File-System-Reference.pdf.

19:55:10 <gtpedrosa> Hey everyone, I was using Gnucash 2.6 with piecash (https://pypi.org/project/piecash/) to power a dashboard of my finances long time ago. Decided to pick up on this old project with up to date dependencies. I found out piecash does not support Gnucash versions greater than 3.0.x. Therefore I'd like to get started with the official python bindings. Tried to install it via 'apt-get install python-gnucash' (as instructed here:
19:55:11 <gtpedrosa> https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Python_Bindings) on my ubuntu 18.0.4 and found out it supports only Gnucash 2.6.19-1 if I understand correctly (https://www.ubuntuupdates.org/package/core/bionic/universe/base/python-gnucash). Any ideas on how to best proceed to install the gnucash python binding?
19:56:24 <jralls> gtpedros, How did you install GnuCash?
19:58:47 <jralls> gtpedros, GTG, sorry.
20:11:55 <gtpedrosa> Added the following ppa https://launchpad.net/~sicklylife/+archive/ubuntu/gnucash and installed with 'sudo apt-get install gnucash'
