01:41:09 <linas> OK, new system ordered. Should arrive in days.
01:41:51 <linas> meanwhile, tomorrow I will fiddle with my theoretical "easy to failover" system that was never fully installed
01:42:03 <linas> so there was no automatic failover.

09:21:24 <chris> warlord: is the 'job' concept limited to customers or does it apply to vendor as well? if so, the current job-report searching A/R accounts only is an incorrect limitation
09:23:41 <chris> (I haven't looked into Emp/Voucher yet)
09:26:22 <chris> UI suggests vendors have job too
09:26:44 <warlord> chris, Jobs can go to anything.
09:27:01 <warlord> technically even employees, although I don't think there's a way to set that.
09:27:10 <warlord> But yes, you can send a Vendor Job.
09:27:26 <chris> I agree however the current job-report searches AR only
09:28:30 <chris> *perhaps I'll ensure new-owner-report fixes that
09:29:06 <chris> *actually the new-owner-report doesn't limit its search... however the signs of numbers must depend on the job-owner

09:35:10 <warlord> chris, I didn't write the job-report. So whoever did put in that limitation.
09:37:37 <chris> oh yeah
09:49:46 * chris will fix new-owner-report very shortly then!
09:50:19 <warlord> ok
10:08:14 <mauritslamers> is there any way to have an invoice with a SEPA QR code?
10:08:14 <gncbot> mauritslamers: Sent 3 days, 7 hours, and 1 minute ago: <chris> thought about your issue with multiple-tax-rates in 1 invoice in income-gst-statement -- would you mind trying again but untick 'accumulate splits' when posting invoice?
10:11:23 <chris> mauritslamers: you can only do this by generating a PNG elsewhere and including it in the invoice options as a header image.
10:11:42 <mauritslamers> chris: I found that there is a way to generate it in HTML
10:12:58 <mauritslamers> about your other question: where is the option accumulate splits exactly?
10:13:17 <chris> it is in invoice-posting dialog.
10:13:27 <chris> unfortunately it wouldn't work for your request
10:13:37 <chris> see https://bugs.gnucash.org/show_bug.cgi?id=796995

10:57:35 <mauritslamers> is scheme / guile the only language that can be used to generate reports or are there other languages possible?
10:59:05 <mauritslamers> important to add: and if other languages are possible, would they still work from the user interface?

12:43:59 <jralls> mauritslamers: Yes, you can generate reports from python, though it would take a fair amount of programming effort because much of the report infrastructure is in Scheme. There would be no way to add it to the GnuCash UI.
12:50:30 <jralls> mauritslamers: It should be possible to write a report in C/C++. You'd need to call the scheme report infrastructure functions via SCM_call_xxx (https://www.gnu.org/software/guile/manual/guile.html#Fly-Evaluation).

15:19:36 <giuseppef> Hi, I have some problems importing a CSV for customers in 3.7. When I select the tile, nothing is showed in the preview windows and if I go further it says all lines were rejected. I don't know where I'm wrong
15:21:59 <giuseppef> I tried with , and ; as separator, and with or without " for delimiting text. Now the following is a line of my file (no real data inside):
15:22:42 <giuseppef> ,"MY COMPANY","My Name","My Street 8","40126","Bologna","(BO)",,,"noone@noplace.com",,,,,,,,

16:53:04 <jralls> Yes, a failed power supply in the server. Linas has a replacement on order and is working on getting his failover mechanism working to get it back up sooner.

17:17:19 <giuseppef> I am tryng to use gnucash to manage accountability of a Non Profit organization. All associates have to pay an annual fee to be members of the association. Now I uploaded all associates' data as Customers, and I have to insert transaction to record their obligation to pay the fee. The question is: is there a way to emit a document in A/R that is not an Invoice, or to register the credit without inserting an Invoice?
17:18:16 <warlord> giuseppef, no. The only way to use A/R in a way that will allow you to use e.g. aging reports, etc. is by leveraging Invoices.
17:18:58 <warlord> You can, however, just use a regular Asset account as an implied A/R and keep track manually. However you'll lose the ability to use the business reports.
17:21:03 <giuseppef> Do you mean I should manually create an asset account for each member?

19:01:26 <fell> There is no log for 05: https://code.gnucash.org/builds/win32/build-logs/maint/2019-11/ while forflatpak we get a daily log.
19:01:52 <warlord> windows checks for changes before running and wont log anything if there's nothing new.
19:03:33 <fell> OK
19:11:14 <jralls> Unfortunately not the case. There's no maint log because the master job is hung.
19:12:30 <jralls> When there's nothing to do it says so in the way that confused fell last weekend.
19:13:04 <fell> jralls: Right
19:14:36 <fell> Perhaps we should change the order. I assume in most cases changes on maint are less invasive than in master?
19:17:26 <jralls> Depends on what you mean by invasive. Chenges on master tend to be things that we're not ready to release.
19:17:47 <jralls> But it's likely more important that maint gets built than it is that master does.
19:23:11 <jralls> So I just switched the order, maint will go first.
