05:40:06 <pohly1> I am importing transactions via aqbanking/HBCI into GNUCash 3.7. I've not figured out where it stores the association between account number in the imported data and the GNUCash account. It did ask a few times (apparently without remembering the answer), but now it no longer asks and uses the wrong account. Must be related to my setup (GNUCash Debian for Buster running inside a Docker container), but how do I fix it? Can I cause GNUCash
05:40:06 <pohly1> to ask again? I tried wiping out my dconf database, but to no avail.

05:54:23 <pohly1> Setting up the account anew in aqbanking hasn't helped either.
06:04:20 <pohly1> I think I found it in the .xac file, under <slot:key>online_id</slot:key>. Removing that false entry fixed it.

06:35:06 <pohly1> And now it asks again each time I import transactions. At least it works when I then select the right account. Still a bit annoying :-/

10:12:35 <fell> warlord: prefix /opt is special: You need to create several links,e.g. [/usr/local]/etc/gnucash/environment->/opt/gnucash/etc/environment, same for the binary, ...
10:14:00 <fell> I don't know, if make install will do it.
10:21:17 <warlord> fell, that's just dumb.
10:21:44 <warlord> If I say to install something into /opt/FOO, then all of FOO should go into /opt/FOO. I don't expect anything to go into /etc
10:21:52 <warlord> that's the whole point of --prefix!
10:22:41 <fell> But the opt difrs are not in the search pathes, IIRC.
10:25:53 <fell> The benefit of opt is, your system direcories get not cluttered, if you forget make uninstall.
10:27:18 <fell> But at the cost that you must link the searched elements into the system dirs. Else they are not found.
10:28:10 <fell> At least that is how I understand the FHS.

14:16:27 <Daniel__> Can someone tell me how I should setup a starting debt in a freshly made gnucash account? I'm setting up my first account. I have a 1k starting balance in my checking account. I want to add a starting debt of 500 under Liabilities. When I do this, my NetWorth is 1500. I would expect it to be 500. Is this expected, and do I not understand the
14:16:28 <Daniel__> accounting equation, or did I misenter this? I also have a Orphan-EUR account of 500 euro. It seems to me I screwed up the way I entered the loan.

14:20:25 <gjanssens> warlord: it's a cmake choice to use /etc/opt/gnucash when prefix is opt. I have no idea why it does so but apparently it's a feature, not a bug.
14:21:29 <gjanssens> I don't think it would be hard to have gnucash work with this, but I have no time to fix this. So right now /opt as prefix is broken.
14:33:52 *** User_ has joined #gnucash
14:34:03 <warlord> gjanssens, *shrugs* I consider it a bug ;)
14:34:08 *** Daniel__ has joined #gnucash
14:36:43 <gjanssens> :)
14:38:08 <warlord> it's worse, because ./configure --prefix=/opt does NOT do that... So you would need to know which configuration system is being used.

15:21:35 <gjanssens> warlord: we no longer support autotools. We're purely cmake (at least for gnucash, but that's the only bit where this is relevant)
15:22:02 <gjanssens> Projects that do support multiple build system generators will indeed have a harder time still.

17:23:06 <asante> Googling anything gives me this discussion on the mailinglist: http://gnucash.1415818.n4.nabble.com/GNC-dev-Missing-package-td4713375.html but I cannot find any soluting in that thread
