13:13:27 <jralls> warlord, gjanssens, fell: I'm not so sure about Wm's duplicates complaint. He prefaced it in a way that's focussed on recent bugs. I have most of those in my head and try to mark as duplicate any that I see *and can confirm*. If I'm in doubt I don't mark it duplicate.
13:15:09 <jralls> As we know Wm has an unjustified high regard for his analytic abilities and understanding of programming (never mind accounting). I don't think he's able to distinguish "sounds similar but is actually unrelated" from "duplicate".

13:21:09 <jralls> It's also likely that some, perhaps many, of the old bugs have been fixed, either because they were unidentified dupes of something that did get fixed or because a dev noticed a problem and just fixed it. Others are likely obsolete because they were caused by a bug in a dependency that's been fixed.
13:24:30 <jralls> Then there's the enhancements, both in BZ and UserVoice. Most of them are dumb ideas, but we never say that and close them. Nearly all of the rest languish because we don't want to take time from our long-term goals and firefighting to work on them.
