I do this by bringing in transactions from various sources and adding everything to a ledger. I'm looking at GnuCash and wondered if there is a possibility to use it as a frontend for this system. In other words: is there a GnuCash protocol I could in theory implement.

14:14:40 <lmat> bobo: I think GNU Cash has some excellent facilities for tracking such assets. Personally, I don't use those facilities, but simply create a "regular" asset account and record dividends, sales and acquisitions in the "normal" way.
