00:57:14 <chris> just wondering if jralls_afk or warlord (or anyone) has an opinion -- average-cost and weighted-average pricing mechanism are accepting a 'report-date' -- this means the transactions-until-report-date are being mined for pricing data. is this mechanism still "valid"? this means my multicolumn balance sheet will need to send different dates to the pricing-calculator, which is rather difficult. I'd be keen to avoid it.
00:58:03 <chris> it's already a monster report as of now

02:05:16 <jralls> chris: Not to mention https://bugs.gnucash.org/show_bug.cgi?id=775368. Yes, the average cost price method is necessary at least for the trial balance.
02:06:51 <chris> i know my query relates to whether these price-calculators really need an "end-date" to *limit* the transactions selection price-mining. if yes, then my report needs to be overhauled again, because its end-date is currently the *overall-period* end-date, rather than "column date".
02:08:17 <chris> in anycase there'll be lots of disclaimers and the primary purpose is to compare asset/liability/inc/exp periodic amounts rather than for exact networth valuations
02:09:46 <chris> i.e. if user wants annual balancesheet from 01/01/2012-01/01/2018, it means the average-cost and weighted-average will currently use txns up to 01/01/2018 to determine price. this means that the 01/01/2012 balsheet numbers will not exactly match the single-date balancesheet.

09:12:01 <gjanssens> warlord: I think my instructions should mention installing the flathub repo: https://flatpak.org/setup/Fedora/
09:12:21 <gjanssens> As this is already installed on my system I didn't think of that
09:14:03 <warlord> gjanssens: I just did dnf install flatbak-builder. I didn't do any other flatpak stuff.
09:14:45 <warlord> anyways, gotta run. I'll hopefully have some more time later this weekend.
09:17:11 <gjanssens> Try the following command: flatpak remote-add --if-not-exists flathub https://flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo
09:17:18 <gjanssens> And the rerun the build script
09:17:32 <gjanssens> (When you have time again to look at this)

09:22:09 <gjanssens> to the readme file
