12:26:33 <john> Is there a way to disable the rate column in GnuCash? I've been using GnuCash for a year and recently noticed the rate column is displayed in my credit card and cash accounts while all other accounts don't have this column. In addition, the "Accounts" list shows two value columns, "Present" & "Present (USD)".
12:26:33 <john> This may be something I caused to happen when I initially placed my investment accounts in the program so I could try online tracking. I stopped tracking investments in GnuCash shortly after evaluating that feature and removed the accounts and securities from the program.
12:26:33 <john> I'm currently using v3.3 but I believe I began with a data file created 2.6.18 and for the most part, have tried to keep up with each new stable version as it came out.

The rate column is supposed to be hidden but it's possible to reveal it by dragging the separator on the right side of "Balance" in the header to the left. You should be able to hide it again by dragging that to the right so that the column width is again 1 pixel.

Open it in an editor that can save plain text files and remove any lines beginning with "exchrate_width".
