08:26:30 <WebFreak> hi, is there some way in GnuCash to make it basically average all next future transactions to give me like a daily amount I could basically spend to stay above 0? Basically the daily amount I could spend would go up or down depending on corrections/manual payments and once the scheduled transaction actually occurs it would adjust the daily average accordingly
08:27:32 <WebFreak> like right now I just started with GnuCash using the "traditional" way to account but most of the time I don't look that far ahead like what businesses need and I would just like to know what I could spend like on a day or a week and of course for the next weeks it should go up if I don't spend anything and go down if I spend too much
08:28:34 <chris> the only suitable report is the "future scheduled transactions summary" and it hasn't received many requests for upgrades for a while now
08:30:12 <WebFreak> hm it's saying all 0 for me for this month (adjusted the start and end to "current month" in the settings)
08:30:30 <WebFreak> though I already have quite a few scheduled monthly transactions
08:31:55 <chris> i'll be brb very soon, so, if you're unable to make it work, please file a bug :)
08:32:01 <chris> s/brb/afk
08:32:40 <WebFreak> I will in a month, I have just started using it so it might still be missing like required data. All the current months transactions are manually inserted for the future and I made scheduled transactions from them
08:33:20 <WebFreak> I really like to be able to use these transaction editors and split transactions though, I learned a bit of accounting in school for a few years so it feels nice to be able to use it

08:51:55 <WebFreak> also does anyone know what reconcile is? I read that some people do it at end of month and that you don't reconcile expenses and income but I don't quite get what it is

08:54:42 <chris> in layman terms, you compare your bank transaction-list with the bank statement and ensure matching transactions exist - they will usually exist in different order. you use it to find/locate missing income, missing checks.
08:56:02 <WebFreak> so like how would I use that feature then? starting balance, ending balance and statement date?
