04:03:21 <emilio_p> Hi, I've tried to change the language of Gnucash on windows 10 to Sweidsh by adding the environment.local file but this is not succesfull. Any idea what is wrong? I tried both se_SV and Swedish_Sweden.

07:39:24 *** emilio_p has joined #gnucash
08:17:47 <chf> Yes, boldstripe, that means you're using a locally installed version, if apt says, your package is 3.0, this one says, it's 3.1 => installed twice, once wiht ait, once without.
08:17:57 <chf> with apt
08:19:21 <chf> Call it as "/usr/bin/gnucash" with the full path prepended to use 3.0.
08:20:35 <chf> To get rid of 3.1, try "make uninstall" in the source directory, don't know whether this is implemented.
08:21:26 <chf> To get rid of 3.0: "apt-get --purge remove gnucash".

09:11:43 <boldstripe> To tidy up, I 'removed' gnucash installations from both Aptitude and Synaptic (both showed 3.0-1 installed). Now is not even showing as an available package in either app, but perhaps that will correct itself over time.
09:12:27 <boldstripe> For a Debian user, I would suggest 'remove' gnucash using the package manager might be better than purge.

16:25:25 <jralls> gjanssens: Working on https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=795272. Crash is because https://github.com/Gnucash/gnucash/blob/maint/gnucash/import-export/qif-imp/assistant-qif-import.c#L1078 calls https://github.com/Gnucash/gnucash/blob/maint/gnucash/import-export/qif-imp/qif-to-gnc.scm#L1233 without an argument.
16:26:11 <jralls> The argument should be, I think, wind->imported_account_tree, which is an SCM, but how to pass it to scm_eval_string?

17:14:25 <gjanssens> jralls: this is passed in scm_call_1 a few lines down
17:16:44 <jralls> Yes, I figured that out with a little better debugging. Apparently the imported_account_tree resolves as #<unspecified> and that causes an unhandled exception in gnc-account-get-descendants-sorted, causing Guile to exit.
17:19:06 <gjanssens> Oh :(
17:20:01 <jralls> Well, that's weird. I set a breakpoint on gnc_account_get_descendants_sorted. It didn't fire but it did prevent the exception.
17:20:50 <gjanssens> I wonder what changed between 2.6.x and 3.x if this causes an unhandled exception in 3.x and not in 2.6.x
17:21:07 <gjanssens> Should we wrap this in gfec in some way ?
17:21:46 <gjanssens> Odd thing with the breakpoint though.
17:22:00 <gjanssens> Smells like a race condition
17:23:14 <jralls> I don't know that it doesn't crash in 2.6.x. I guess if it can throw it should be wrapped in gfec. I'll have to study gfec.

17:26:00 <jralls> Is it significant that engine-common.i declares 4 functions including gnc_account_get_descendants_sorted and then %ignores them?
17:27:03 <gjanssens> No idea...
17:27:18 *** wget has quit IRC
17:28:20 *** wget has joined #gnucash
17:28:33 <gjanssens> For gfec you can either replace scm_call_1 with gfec_apply in c code or you can use gnc:call-with-error-handling directly in scm
17:30:37 <gjanssens> As for the %ignore constructs, this is so that the function will not be redeclared in the subsequent include call
17:33:17 <jralls> Ah, and the return type is aliased, GList* becoming AccountList*. OK, not significant.

18:34:46 <jralls> gjanssens: Well, gfec_apply does prevent the crash, which is progress of sorts. Still working on the underlying cause, which seems to be that qif-import:qof-to-gnc is failing to return its new-root.
