00:12:10 <chris> @tell dmeey if you're wishing to track prices of inventory - cost price sale price/profit, I'd say gnucash is not exactly geared for this. the internal data structures *do* allow tracking items quantities+prices and you can calculate 'unit price' by simple division, most reports do not quite understand this type of price variability... they assume price variability comes from the market rather than from your sale skills
00:12:10 <gncbot> chris: The operation succeeded.
00:12:54 <chris> @tell dmeey however you can still technically track inventory prices/numbers but will need to create your own reports
00:12:54 <gncbot> chris: The operation succeeded.

04:08:16 <gour> morning
04:10:27 <gour> i've the following line in my ~/.gnucash/config.user: (load (gnc-build-dotgnucash-path "ytd-budget.scm")), but it does not appear and despite of launching gnucash with: --debug --log gnc.scm=debug there is nothing in the terminal. any hint how to troubleshoot it?
04:12:49 <gour> some time ago i moved (after years of usage) from GC to (h)ledger to due to missing feature of envelope (cumulative) budgeting and forecasting and the above report could bring me back...since i found that entering data, scheduled txns, reconcillation...is quicket/better in GC than in other #plaintextaccounting apps, but I simply need proper envelope budgeting and forecasting
04:13:34 <gour> i took report from here: https://lists.gnucash.org/pipermail/gnucash-user/2018-March/075748.html

13:10:12 <marco82> hi all, I have the same problem as gour - in 2.6.19 I had a custom report and in 3.0 I cannot get it to load / display in the report menu anymore. It is basically a slightly adapted version of the taxinvoice.scm report. I do not know if the "config.user" is not read anymore or if the load command is working differently with 3.0. No error in the trace file visible either. I am on Windows and used the command "gnucash.exe --debug --log gn

16:07:45 <fell> Guest77: try to intall (a permutation of) perl-lib-finance-quote
16:10:44 <fell> AFAIK ubuntu made it a dependency of their GnuCash package.
16:13:09 <fell> https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Online_Quotes shows several ways to install or update it.
16:22:49 <Guest77> seems that it should be libfinance-quote-perl but is missing the update thing
16:23:28 <Guest77> i've found another post linking to the source on github which i used from 2.4 now it can download stocks from commandline e..g yahoo_json with GOOG
16:23:54 <Guest77> however i still have an issue with unionfunds using the ISIN - you don't happen to be german?
16:24:28 <fell> Doch
16:25:57 <Guest77> IRC language is german only? - have you ever tried retrieving fund values from unioninvestment?
16:26:49 <Guest77> e.g. https://www.union-investment.de/handle?action=viewFundPortrait&isin=DE0009750497&portrait=5
16:27:06 <Guest77> i'd assume "gnc-fq-dump unionfunds DE0009750497" but don't get anything useful back

-> Bugzilla
