10:36:28 <talexb> The latest version of GnuCash has been a little flaky for me .. clicking on a tab has the UI flashing between two choices.
10:38:26 <talexb> I'm using 2.6.12 according to the splash screen ..
10:45:07 <talexb> And then I opened the application (third time today), reconciled an account, and Everything Just Worked. Sigh.

11:34:47 <jralls> chris: Do you mean the feature in reports that account names are links that open that account's register?
11:36:11 <jralls> talexb: 2.6.12 is hardly the latest version of GnuCash. That would be 2.6.19. But if the UI is flashing that's Gtk being flakey, not directly GnuCash. What OS are you running?
11:37:03 <talexb> I'm running Ubuntu 16.04 .. thanks for asking.
11:37:57 <talexb> I've been using GnuCash for a couple of years (um .. eight?) and I've never seen this behaviour before. That's why I found it puzzling.
11:40:25 *** finster has joined #gnucash
11:40:29 <jralls> What does "flashing between two choices" mean? What are the choices?
11:41:08 <talexb> It flashed between the tab of the account I'd selected and the main Accounts tab.
11:42:19 <talexb> I exited the application and tried again. Then I tried clicking on the tab I wanted, and the window title changed to that account, but the main window didn't get re-drawn -- which sounds like a Gtk issue, and not Gnucash.
11:45:56 <jralls> Or maybe a Unity issue.
11:46:10 <chris> jralls: no this is about an old feature gjanssens disabled years ago - https://github.com/Gnucash/gnucash/blob/unstable/gnucash/report/report-system/html-barchart.scm#L159 - I guessed clicking on a barchart bar would jump to the account, but this was before I started to be a user

11:49:31 <jralls> chris: Way before I got involved too. warlord, do you know what the urls in the barchart did when we had guppi?
11:51:20 <warlord> they linked back to the account, or possibly even down to the specific transactions.
11:52:34 <chris> hmm perhaps they can eventually be resurrected, but not necessarily with jqplot

11:54:59 <chris> I think I can merge html-[barchart|linechart|piechart|scatter].scm into html-charts.scm as a first project, and consider another javascript plotting library.
11:55:18 <jralls> I don't know jqplot well enough to know whether it can set hrefs on graph regions, but once they're set then WebKit will handle them properly.

12:04:06 <chris> jqplot having bitrot as well - their github tracker currently debating whether to renew their domain :-o
12:08:13 <jralls> warlord: Is code having issues processing mail? I sent to gnucash-devel last night and just re-sent, but it's not showing on the list.
12:08:45 <jralls> No delivery errors returned.
12:17:21 <jralls> chris: Indeed. Last commit was two years ago and the last discernable developer activity was Johan Bove closing a bug as a dupe almost a year agl.

12:39:13 <jralls> warlord: I didn't get any mail from code 35 minutes ago and the last message date at https://lists.gnucash.org/pipermail/gnucash-user/2018-March/thread.html is yesterday just before noon. The last one on devel is Saturday.

12:52:40 <jralls> Roger, got the test.
12:55:14 <warlord> So incoming is working from my internal network, and outgoing clearly works.
12:55:43 <jralls> Ah, the gnucash-patches-bounces was the patches digest, I did get that... and it shows that ntp isn't working on my mail server, it's 5 minutes slow.
12:57:04 <jralls> My server log also shows an issue connecting to comcast for outgoing mail so my sends haven't actually left.
