03:28:35 <rkninja> Hi Friends, I have gnucash 2.6.18 and it was on fc26, recently I upgraded to fc27. Now when I open the gnucash it reads the mysql db and loads the data , but when I am trying to save any transaction it throws error "Unable to save to database"
03:28:35 <gncbot> rkninja: Sent 1 day, 16 hours, and 19 minutes ago: <lmat> what distribution are you using?
03:28:36 <gncbot> rkninja: Sent 1 day, 15 hours, and 37 minutes ago: <jralls> F27 has dropped support for WebKit1, required for GnuCash 2.6.*. The Fedora packager had said that he'd bundle it up somehow, but I don't know if he did--and if he did you'll need to do a fresh install to get it.
03:28:37 <gncbot> rkninja: Sent 1 day, 15 hours, and 35 minutes ago: <jralls> Otherwise your choices are to switch to 2.7.3 (recognizing that it's barely-beta at this point) or to build WebKitGtk-2.4.11 from source, that being the last version that supported the WebKit1 API.

06:42:58 <jotrago> GC 2.6.17 on Linux Mint 18. Been running for several years. Tidying up before year end, checking Open Lots, Free Splits etc. Last Item has me puzzled.
06:45:30 <jotrago> I have two free splits left in AR for $495, one positive, one negative, so they cancel out. Finding the TX in AR, Action=Lot Link; Memo = Account Name & "Offset between Documents: Credit Note 000390 - Invoice 000405.
06:45:39 <jotrago> Further:-
06:46:27 <jotrago> Invoice 405 IS for $495 but is paid with receipt correctly allocated. No Credit note was ever issued agains INV405

06:47:04 <jotrago> Credit note 390 was for $950 against Invoice 387, both of which are complete with correctly allocated transactions.

07:43:30 <jotrago> I have found it ok to delete things like duplicated entries in Current accounts, but I agree that in general it is not recommended to mess directly in AR & AP and let the Business functions manage them. I think this may be an exception. I have crosschecked with all the tools, including the Lots Viewer and I cannot see where these to TX came from, and they do not seem to refer to any valid TX, so I am tempted to delete them.

13:25:27 <fell> Mechtilde, if you like to run the grep command above without Source, you will see a few german notes.
13:26:09 <fell> Perhaps you have some ideas to improve the translations there.
13:28:56 <Mechtilde> Ok I will have a look at it
13:39:41 <jralls> fell: You need to re-merge it on a post-rearrangement gnucash.pot. Aside from that, some of those comments make sense and we should probably go ahead and fix them regardless of the string freeze. Others aren't clear, e.g. 'Fixme: Source 1. Accelerator missing "assign payment"', there's no "assign payment" anywhere near that. Otheres are dubious, like the ones in gnc-plugin-page-register: Those are menus and we don't seem t
13:39:42 <jralls> o use mnemonics in menus. Menu accelerators aren't translated and google didn't turn up any way to localize them.
13:42:36 *** kus has quit IRC
13:48:34 <jralls> fell: The KVP key defines in qofbookslots.h shouldn't even be translated, never mind shouldn't have accelerators. Localizing them means that opening the book in a different language will change the options settings on the book.
13:49:11 <jralls> fell: And obviously there's nothing to accelerate in a KVP key.
13:54:03 <fell> Source qofbookslots contains the strings from File->Properties
13:55:34 <fell> Use Trading Accounts, Day Threshold ...

14:04:41 <fell> In my notes accellerator is not used as a technical terms. When I wrote them I did not distinguish between mnenoics and accellerator.
14:05:25 *** kus has joined #gnucash
14:05:31 <jralls> Yes, I understand. But we're dealing with a technical issue and it's important to keep them straight.
14:06:57 <fell> the section in wiki:Translations should get a fix then, too.
14:06:58 <jralls> As for bookslotskvp.h, I know that those defines are mis-used for the GUI. The whole options system is crap and desperately needs to be rewritten from scratch and without any Scheme.

14:23:03 <Mechtilde> fell Line 16353 with the SEPA conditions is IMO right. but I can't test it know
14:23:37 <Mechtilde> I can't do a proper build myself and the version I use on debian is broken for transactions
14:26:21 <Mechtilde> I get the message "Your local bank account does not yet have the SEPA account information stored. We are sorry, but in this development version one additional step is necessary which has not yet been implemented directly in gnucash. Please execute the command line program \"aqhbci-tool\" for your account, as follows: aqhbci-tool4 getaccsepa -b %s -a %s"
14:27:30 <Mechtilde> But this doesn't work
14:27:48 <fell> jralls, I updated my note in section qofbookslots .
14:29:33 <jralls> fell: OK. I'm looking at the gtk code to figure out what to say in the wiki translation page, but maybe we want to set some sort of policy as well...
14:29:53 *** ah has quit IRC
14:31:50 <fell> Mechtile, IIRC national SEPA implementations will step by step allow more characters like umlauts, accents, ... than ASCII.
14:32:24 <Mechtilde> but i know it also from the Program we use at work
14:32:56 <fell> So it was my intention, we should check them after each FINTS release.
14:33:30 <Mechtilde> ok i will look at it if it works for me again
14:34:29 <jralls> fell First off, mnemonics work differently for different widgets. e.g. on buttons they work like accelerators: <alt>F operates the button with that mnemonic--as long as there isn't an accelerator set to <alt>F because accelerators are handled first by gtkevent. Menuitem mnemonics work without a modifier key if one has the containing menu open.
14:35:24 <fell> Mechtilde: feel free to improve my note, to make the intention more clear.
14:38:12 *** Almon has quit IRC
14:42:24 <jralls> fell: Mnemonics can be attached to any widget via gtk_label_new_with_mnemonic() and gtk_label_set_mnemonic_widget(), so it would be easy to go crazy and have them everywhere.
14:49:21 <fell> Supper, back in 30'.
14:49:25 *** fell is now known as fell_afk
14:51:19 <jralls> fell: But we also need to be careful to ensure that they're turned off when focus is inside an edit because <alt> is used to extend the keyboard on Macs. For example to type รถ I use <alt>u followed by o. We've had several bugs on Gramps where some mnemonic grabbed the <alt>u and prevented users from typing umlauts.
