06:42:38 <finster_> hello there. using the latest gnucash on osx (intel), where would gnucash or aqhbci store the pin for a pin/tan setup?

09:12:00 <warlord> finster_: I didnt think it did store the pin?
09:15:50 <warlord> gjanssens: glad to see you can push now. :)
09:16:08 <gjanssens> warlord: yes :)
09:16:33 <gjanssens> Just got back in
09:17:13 <gjanssens> I was about to push changes to unstable as well, but I see they fail on travis so I have some debugging to do still...
09:17:23 <warlord> I am going to have to take code down again to test my FBN rebuild later, once I rebuild it. That will tell me if it's a VM issue or not -- if the FBN problem goes away with a rebuild, then it's a VM issue. If the problem does NOT go away, then the problem lies elsewhere (possibly a hardware problem).
09:17:44 <warlord> No worries. I'll let you know here before I do anything drastic.
09:18:22 <warlord> I am first going to try some new ethernet cables and swap out the switch ports in use. then I'm going to try the fbn rebuild.
09:19:19 <gjanssens> Ok
09:22:12 <warlord> It could also be a bad ethernet controller in the VM hardware.. Or it could be a bad port of my router.. Or it could be something compeltely unrealted.
09:30:56 <finster_> warlord: it at least offers to store the pin. but before doing that i thought about asking where the pin is stored. because access to financial data, y'know :)
09:31:34 <finster_> warlord: oy, you're still diagnosing the packet loss problem?
09:32:31 <warlord> finster_: I am.
09:33:01 <warlord> It only happens when 2 VMs are online (mostly -- there is still some issues even when these two are offline, but it's significantly reduced).
09:33:55 <warlord> Maybe gjanssens or fell knows where it is stored?
09:38:42 *** User has quit IRC
09:40:14 <gjanssens> finster_: I don't know about the aqbanking pin. I know the db backends (mysql or postgresql) will offer to store the password in the Apple Keychain. However that's totally unrelated to aqbanking as far as I know.
09:41:56 <finster_> gjanssens: i see. thanks! i'll check the aqbanking docs then
09:46:42 *** fabior has joined #gnucash
09:47:07 <warlord> Okay, just swapped cables and switch ports...
09:47:19 <warlord> But that didn't seem to help..
09:54:07 <fell> IIRC the PIN is only "stored" for your session, so I assume it is kept in RAM.
09:56:19 <fell> Else you would have to reenter it for each aqb command.
09:56:36 <finster_> fell: that's what i'm doing right now
09:59:35 <fell> msgid "Remember the PIN in memory"
10:00:33 <fell> msgid ""
10:00:35 <fell> "If active, the PIN for HBCI/AqBanking actions will be remembered in memory "
10:00:36 <fell> "during a session. Otherwise it will have to be entered again each time "
10:00:38 <fell> "during a session when it is needed."
10:01:38 <finster_> fell: is that msgid string from a .po translation file?
10:01:49 <fell> yep
10:02:17 <finster_> okay, then we have a translation issue i suppose. the german translation reads as "save password"
10:02:32 <finster_> "kennwort merken" is the german wording
10:02:56 <finster_> but thanks for the clarification!
10:03:31 <fell> That are the strings from gschema.
10:04:55 <fell> you will see them in *conf editors.
10:06:50 <Chris> speaking of aqbanking I wish it were more easily hackable; I don't suppose anyone can add glue for Oz banks.

10:26:52 <fell> Finster, you think, Edit->Preferences should use the same strings as in gschema for aqbanking?
10:27:39 <finster_> yes, it does
10:27:55 <finster_> sorry, yes, it should
10:28:06 <finster_> or would make sense, rather
10:29:42 <fell> gjanssens, is the glade conversion finished?
10:31:02 <fell> or would it get lost in unstable/master, if I appy the change to maint?
10:31:57 <gjanssens> fell: I *think* the glade conversions are finished, but it was Robert Fewell who did those.

13:42:12 <warlord> hey jralls. Welcome back.
13:42:41 <jralls> Hi warlord.
13:43:20 <jralls> "FBM" expands in my mind to "Fleet Ballistic Missile [submarine]". Are you running a simulator? Can I play? ;-)
13:43:31 *** Groan has quit IRC
13:43:33 <warlord> It's "FBN", not "FBM"
13:44:51 <gjanssens> "Face Book Nuker" then ? :D
13:45:01 <jralls> Ho. Darn. ;-)
13:45:42 <jralls> Err, Oh. Darn.
13:46:27 <warlord> LOL
13:47:28 <warlord> Anyways, I'm still working on tracking down this network issue. I've narrowed it down to 2 VMs, but it might be a hardware issue on the VM server. I'm rebuilding FBN (because it'll be easier than rebuilding code) to test. If the issue persists with the rebuilt FBN then we know it's a hardware issue.
13:48:04 <jralls> warlord: Yeah, I saw that from the logs earlier.
13:48:26 *** ArtGravity has joined #gnucash
13:48:35 <jralls> I take it you've already done the cable and port-swapping tests you mentioned.
13:49:25 <jralls> For hardware I guess that leaves trying a PCI network card in the VM server.
13:50:08 <jralls> But it seems strange that a hardware problem would present on only those two VMs unless they're the only ones generating traffic.
13:50:31 <warlord> Yes, I have.
13:50:44 *** fabior has quit IRC
13:50:46 <warlord> They are the ones generating the most traffic.
13:51:46 <jralls> Can you spin up a test VM that generates a bunch of traffic?
13:55:59 <warlord> That's kind of what I'm doing.. (duplicating fbn, in case it was actually hacked)
14:01:20 <jralls> I was thinking more along the lines of a minimal Linux and just have it scp a bunch of files back-and-forth to somewhere outside, like maybe www.gnucash.org.

14:25:15 <warlord> jralls: I'm not sure that's sufficient load.
14:29:02 <jralls> Why not? If you get one scp process per core running continuously it should saturate the line. Of course it would also saturate Linas and he'd probably not be happy about that...

14:31:58 *** fekepp has joined #gnucash
14:37:46 <warlord> I'm not sure it's a question of saturation.. I think it's more individual connections.
14:38:19 <warlord> Still, I'm around 80% through configuring a new FBN. Been working on it less than an hour. Mostly just need to copy data files over.

14:52:13 <warlord> And it's configured. Let me shut down the old and start up the new.. Make sure the services work.. and then (later) I'll shut down code and see if we're any better.
14:54:01 <jralls> Don't wait stopping code on me. I'm busy debugging webkit locally.
14:56:26 <warlord> Okay, I'll stop it now, but probably wont be able to restart it for an hour...
14:56:57 <warlord> fell, gjanssens -- okay to pause code for an hour or two?
14:58:32 <warlord> Okay, pausing...

16:29:13 <fell> gjanssens: may I remember you SCM is ambiguous, better use VCS or similar.
16:30:03 <fell> IIRC once I did already a replacement.
16:30:10 *** david-mora_ has quit IRC
16:32:12 <fell> But either I did nit find all occurences or for some other reason SCM was reintroduced.
16:32:32 <gjanssens> fell: you're right about the abiguity.
16:33:16 <gjanssens> Unfortunately it seems we forgot one occurrence of it and even more unfortunately I used exactly that one to base my new parameters on :(
16:33:57 <gjanssens> gnc-vcs-info.h already had GNUCASH_SCM_REV so I named the other ones similarly.
