I created the directory as a work-around, but leaking an exception is a problem.

09:35:37 <manj-gnome> hi all, having a question to upgrade the gnucash on Manjaro Linux, it prompts a new upgrade is available from 2.6.17-3 to 2.6.17-4, but it cannot satisfy dependencies cairo<=1.14.8. The cairo version on the system is 1.15.8-2. How can I get around this?
09:39:40 <warlord> manj-gnome: you'll need to ask your distribution people. We don't have any insights into what they do or how they package up GnuCash.

10:22:45 <gjanssens> warlord: can you connect to gnome's bugzilla ? It has been failing for me since Saturday
10:37:13 <gjanssens> @tell jralls It should not have leaked this exception. If that directory doesn't exist the code should continue with a temporary directory. It clearly doesn't :( I'll try to debug when time permits.
10:37:13 <gncbot> gjanssens: The operation succeeded.

11:53:22 <warlord> gjanssens: sorry. It's working for me.
11:58:33 * warlord is going to have a medium-term networking issue. I'm moving, but going to be ~6 months "between" places. Need to figure out what I'm doing with my servers (and network) during that time.

12:32:05 <marusich> I'd like to change a split that is linked to a reconciled split. GnuCash is warning me that "doing so might make future reconciliation difficult." The transaction in question contains 2 splits: a credit for me checking account, and a debit for an expense account. The split for the checking account is reconciled, and the split for the expense account is not reconciled. I intend to keep the amounts of each split the same; I only
12:32:05 <marusich> intend to modify the expense account split so that the debit will be for a different expense account (I want to re-categorize this expense). Will anything bad happen if I make this change?

12:50:04 <gjanssens> jralls: it's really a bummer we couldn't release 2.7 this weekend :(
12:50:31 <gjanssens> But I agree it's not a good idea if we know beforehand reports crash on both Windows and OS X
12:51:35 <gjanssens> Did the crashes suggest a cause (like a missing required dependency library or such) ?
12:52:10 <gjanssens> (I won't be home this evening, so I can't discuss it, but I was curious)
12:55:18 *** gjanssens is now known as gjanssens_afk
13:15:50 <jralls> gjanssens_afk: Unfortunately not, but it was already way past bedtime and I didn't have time to work on it yesterday. I'll be busy all day on both Wednesday and Saturday too so I want to make sure that everything is mostly ready to release 2.6.18 on Sunday before I go back to it.
13:16:49 <jralls> marusich: That will be OK. The warning really means "don't change the amount in the reconciled split" but that's a bit wordy for a message box.
13:16:54 <warlord> marusich: You can safely change the target account.
13:17:00 <warlord> It's more an issue if you change numbers.
13:17:56 <marusich> OK. It would also be a problem if the target account's split was actually reconciled, right?
13:20:48 <jralls> marusich: Yes.
13:21:16 <marusich> OK, understood. Is it also OK to change the description of the spilts, even the reconciled split?
13:21:46 <jralls> Yes, the description doesn't affect anything except autofill.
13:21:50 <marusich> OK
13:21:52 <marusich> Thank you!

14:07:53 <thecat> hello, is there a list of banks that support aqbanking ?
14:09:09 <thecat> or any other integration between online banking and gnucash
14:17:42 <jralls> thecat: Depends on what country you're in. For the US there's http://www.ofxhome.com/, which isn't perfectly comprehensive but covers a lot of banks. For Germany I think it's required that all banks support HBCI. I don't know about what resources exist in/for other countries.

15:11:38 <chf> /me is german, whis isn't far away from jralls point of view.
15:13:03 <chf> thecat, there's a problem, HBCI was invented by the ZKA („zentraler Kreditausschuß“) an organisation of german banks. Even not all german banks do support it, and no foreign banks that I'm aware of.
15:16:55 <chf> However, have a look at the following list: https://www.alf-banco.de/faq/konto-einrichtung/zugangsdaten-fur-hbci-pintan/

17:12:02 <jralls> @tell gjanssens On Windows GnuCash 2.7.0 runs from the mingw32 shell, so it's probably something missing from the bundle.
17:12:02 <gncbot> jralls: The operation succeeded.
17:13:03 <warlord> jralls: that makes it a bit easier. find -name \*.dll in both locations and see what's missing.
17:20:22 <jralls> warlord: depends.exe will do it better. There're a lot of libs in /mingw32/libs that don't need to be in the bundle.
17:23:00 <warlord> ok

18:01:43 <jralls> Sigh. Not a missing library, a segfault in libwebkitgtk. Naturally Mingw64 strips the binaries, and the segfault is 34 frames into libwebkit.
