03:19:43 <heyzeuss> Are the any open source fixed asset managers to go along with GnuCash?
03:31:19 <gjanssens> .
03:31:19 <gncbot> gjanssens: Sent 15 hours and 3 minutes ago: <jralls> I actually had it in mind to go the other way for the tests, to compile each one completely independent of libqof. That was the model I'd used in test_gnc_rational and test_gnc_numeric.

11:51:49 <gjanssens> jralls: I did wonder about that. But as you suggested "the simplest fix" I went for that.
11:52:08 <gjanssens> I can tell now the other way around it definitely not "the simplest fix"...
11:53:05 <gjanssens> Why do you prefer building tests without libqof linked in ? What benefit does that have ?
12:00:40 *** Mechtilde has joined #gnucash
12:28:48 <gjanssens> Got it figured out after all. The why question is still unanswerred though.
12:41:58 *** Artefact2 has joined #gnucash

13:28:46 <jralls> gjanssens: The why is to expose dependencies that need to be replaced with mocks. If we link the library to get the dependencies then it's less obvious.
13:31:18 <jralls> The replace-with-mocks exercise is useful because it helps to show up cases where a class has gotten too intimate with another: In that case it's not possible to use a mock and the class under test needs to be refactored to loosen the dependency.
13:37:43 <jralls> warlord: Perhaps freakydoctor20's 02:35 posts should be removed from the logs...
