10:08:55 <lmat> I'm having trouble understanding what utest-Transaction.c:480 means (in current master branch): "g_assert_cmpint (check2->hits, ==, 2);
10:09:00 <lmat> "
10:09:35 <lmat> No, I'm actually looking at line 461 I think.
10:10:02 <lmat> It looks like we expect some errors to have happened between 431 and 461...two to be exact. But I can't tell where those errors would have happened.
10:10:21 <lmat> (I changed timespec to time64, and hits is showing 0 rather than 2.)
10:10:47 <lmat> I've done a bit of research, but I thought I would ask here before I dig deeper.

10:28:59 <warlord> lmat: my guess: overflow?

11:33:16 <lmat> warlord: You're thinking hits is overflowing? Or you're thinking hits should be "hit" twice due to planned overflow?
11:33:36 <warlord> I'm thinking timespec is overflowing, but time64 is not.
11:33:50 <lmat> Ah, good thought.

14:05:47 <gjanssens> warlord: if you still need assistance, I'm online currently
14:06:09 <warlord> Ah, great.
14:06:17 <warlord> gjanssens: PMing you...
14:06:29 <gjanssens> ok
14:19:36 <warlord> Okay, so now that I have ovirt up and running, I need to figure out how to configure it properly (and add users)
14:21:02 <lmat> warlord: Sorry for the wait :-) I'm ready.
14:21:15 <warlord> no worries, lmat --- I got gjanssens to help. Thanks.
14:21:25 <lmat> warlord: cool. Congrats on getting ovirt going!
14:21:34 <lmat> warlord: I've never used it, but it looks complicated ^_^
14:22:04 <warlord> Yeah.... vmware-server was extremely simple and straightforward.
14:22:23 <warlord> I had to re-install ovirt four times yesterday before I got the config I wanted..
14:22:34 <gjanssens> warlord: wow...
14:22:47 * gjanssens is interested in your experience with ovirt
14:23:18 <gjanssens> I have been contemplating using it for my next server as well, but lack of time has kept me from investigating them more
14:23:36 <gjanssens> (them being the various alternatives currently available)
14:23:55 <gjanssens> Got to go for a while now though...
14:24:01 <warlord> Yeah. The first time I made it all the way through, and then it complained that I didn't provide 16GB RAM to the engine. So then I had to clean up, so I found a cleanup script... But then the machine wouldn't reboot (it would only part-way shut down).. And when it came back I couldn't ssh in becuase the firewall had been disabled leaving everything blocked..
14:24:35 <gjanssens> Duh
14:24:55 <warlord> Then I got through and found out I couldn't have the hosted-engine on the same data store as the rest of the VMs.. so I had to do it over again a second time.
14:25:06 <warlord> ... and THEN I got it all working..
14:25:22 <gjanssens> I've seen similar things happen to me when I installed Kolab for a customer.
14:25:58 <gjanssens> There is still some cruft in that installation because I couldn't clean it up completely and there wasn't a budget to restart from scratch
14:26:06 <gjanssens> Anyway, I'm glad you got so far
14:26:11 <warlord> the interface looks pretty nice.. It seems to provide the "web-based" console interfaces we need.. but there's a lot of additional setup that vmware didn't require (or did for me automagically)
14:26:50 <gjanssens> So I'll remember that I need 16Gb ram to the engine and keep the hosted-engine on a separate data store from the VM's
14:27:18 <gjanssens> The latter is also the case with libvirt based virtualization. Perhaps oVirt uses that under the hood ?
14:27:39 <gjanssens> Anyway as I said, got to run for a while
14:27:41 <gjanssens> bbl

16:06:14 <CDB-Man> hmm, so gnucash android requires an xml list of accounts to import -- desktop client only offers accountr tree as a csv export, and the general export option exports the xml into a .gnucash file
16:06:25 <CDB-Man> is there sometging I'm missing re exporting accounts to xml?
16:08:09 <warlord> CDB-Man: File -> Export Accounts
16:08:35 <CDB-Man> right, and that exports into .gnucash xml form
16:08:49 <warlord> Right... which is what the android app expects
16:08:54 <CDB-Man> I'm expecting a .xml ... unless I'm mistaken re what the app expects
16:09:02 <CDB-Man> well, there's that
16:09:33 <warlord> the app is looking for a gnucash xml data file
16:10:06 <CDB-Man> hmm, I think I see the problem -- it was just a matter of rebooting the app -- importing the .gnucash file didnt display any accounts until I restarted it
16:10:20 <warlord> Well then :)
16:10:39 <CDB-Man> hence my thinking it didn't work :)

16:29:17 <lmat> kvp_frame.cpp:350 is really, really bad, right? It takes the address of a local, stores it into the box, then, when that box is returned, the temporary is gone?
16:29:20 <lmat> What should be done here?
16:29:36 <lmat> I guess I don't know the ownership semantics of these g_value boxes.
16:31:45 *** iliv has quit IRC
16:59:04 <gjanssens_afk> lmat: I believe the ownership rules are different depending on the type being boxed
16:59:44 <gjanssens_afk> you can read about it in the gvalue documentation on the gnome developers site IIRC

17:17:00 <lmat> I made a timespec change, and now one of the tests fails. When I run the test, this is what I get: http://sprunge.us/MNVd
17:17:41 <lmat> So I gather that there's a problem with scheme code. Which file? Which directory? I have no idea. It has something to do with "gnc:value->string" function I guess, but that doesn't narrow it down much.
