11:50:07 <cbx33> Hey all
11:50:29 <cbx33> gnucash in fedora23 seems to have lost the ability to create new accounts that are not CURRENCY type
11:50:41 <cbx33> I can't create any with a security as it's unit
11:50:47 <cbx33> like NASDAQ or NYSE
11:50:53 <cbx33> anyone know if this is a known bug?
11:51:04 <cbx33> gnucash did recently update on my machine
11:51:45 <cbx33> I'm on version 2.6.12
12:18:59 <cbx33> I raised this
12:19:01 <cbx33> https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=766141

13:19:01 <cbx33> same thing happend
13:19:09 <cbx33> no way to create a SECURITY account
13:19:13 <cbx33> only a CURRENCY account
14:03:59 <cbx33> resolved

14:41:00 <allison> Is there a way to easily evaluate a formula? I will describe what I am trying to do. When I set up my monthly payments for a loan in the future, it told me monthly payments. However, when I clicked ok, there is no way to view what the monthly payment will be. As I have made no payments yet, it would be convenient to be able to tell what the total payments are (from 5 different loans). I could just delete the scheduled transactions and put them in again
14:41:00 <allison> and write down what it says the payment will be, but it seems like there should be an easy way to do what I am trying to accomplish.
14:41:34 <allison> it told me my monthly payments in dollar amounts*
14:43:19 <allison> I figured the easiest way would be to check the scheduled transactions logs, and in the ledger it has a formula that looks like "ppmt( 0.0111 / 12.00 : i : 120.00 : 86753.09 : 0 : 0 )" If i ould just plug that in somewhere to spit out the monthly payment, that would be useful
14:52:46 <warlord> allison: you can have the SX system fire off the transactions ahead of time.
14:53:04 <warlord> Also, during the loan assistant you can ask it to display the amortization table.
14:54:12 <allison> warlord, I tried to set the transaction to go ahead of time, but I guess I did it wrong because it wouldn't go. Does the exact date have to correct (if its 16 days out and I say fire off 90 days before will it still work?)
14:55:46 <warlord> Yes, that should fire off 3, assuming you scheduled the payments out at one month, and assuming you told it to auto post.
14:56:00 <warlord> Have you restarted GnuCash, or run the Since Last Run dialog?

14:56:46 <allison> I will try that and get back to you. Thanks

15:00:05 <allison> Yep that worked. Thanks. Just out of curiosity, does a formula evaluation feature exist? Even on command line or such.
15:01:01 *** Mechtilde has quit IRC
15:05:19 <warlord> No
15:05:26 <warlord> Well, depends what you mean by that..
15:05:44 <warlord> There is nothing to evaluate a function like "pmt"
15:06:12 <warlord> But there is an equation evaluator, so if you enter something like: 123.45 * 45.6 into the register, it will evaluate it immediately.
15:15:01 <warlord> allison: anyways, I need to run. Good luck!
