06:58:59 <Hinnerk> Hi. I have some equity trading trx wich I want to change. If I do that and then delete the old trx for booking the realized gains, the trading trx is also deleted. Is this normal? Bug? How do I work around it? Do I have to enter the full trx again manually?
06:59:24 <Hinnerk> btw: latest stable: 2.6.12

07:57:03 <Hinnerk> ok, found the solution: You need to first correct the trx, the click on "Posten anzeigen" (whatever that is in english). Then you can delete the old realized gains trx

17:25:23 <beccatron> Does anyone have a good workflow for dealing with retainers/pre-payments? Use case is a client writes me a check at the start of the job, before work has begun. I am looking for a way to a.) increase/debit my bank account when I deposit the check; b.) create a liability I’m calling “Prepaid Services” that tells me how much work I owe (or perhaps a negative asset, ie “Prepaid Receivables”?) and c.) show up correctly as a debit
17:25:24 <beccatron> the customer report. I would like to issue invoices as I complete deliverables; increase income when I post the invoice. Then have the invoice “paid” out of the debit on the client’s account & have “Prepaid Services” liability decrease accordingly. Any advice/suggestions hugely appreciated — I’ve tried multiple ways and am completely stumped. Thanks!!

19:58:35 <aiba> In a register window when you're using the keyboard to modify a transaction's "Transfer" column, is it possible to search for an account name by substring rather than by prefix?
