13:56:11 <aiba> In the ledger window, when typing in an account name (in the transfer column), it's useful that gnucash autocompletes the first account name, and it uses ":" as the account hierarchy separator. Is there a keyboard shortcut for jumping to the next ":"? E.g., if I want to type the account "Expenses:Foo long account name:Bar long account name", I'd like to be able to type "Ex[tab]Foo[tab]Bar[return]". But [tab] doesn't do this.
13:57:30 <aiba> Ah, typing ":" does this!
13:58:28 <warlord> aiba: Yes
14:00:27 <aiba> Thanks, such an excellent feature :-).

15:21:42 <Hinnerk> hi. I'm just thinking about online price retrival. I have it working in GnuCash without problems. But there are two things I would like to add: 1. get and import historic prices (e.g. for all trading days of the last n years of all securities I habe defined retrival for). 2. automatic update and import on a daily basis. I have a server running 24/7, so this could be done by some cron job....
15:21:44 <Hinnerk> ...But is there a proper interface to do all this? HAs someone implemented either of these two tasks?
15:27:01 <Hinnerk> Is this infomation still up to date? http://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Online_Quotes

18:36:16 <jralls> Hinnerk: It is now. Your best bet for installing historical quotes would be to use Scheme and the functions exposed in src/scm/price-quotes.scm.

20:28:20 <jchonig> I'm getting crashes trying to open a mysql book with gnucash 2.6.12 on Ubuntu 14.04 64-bit: *** Error in `gnucash': free(): invalid pointer: 0x000000000226b060 ***
20:28:27 <jchonig> Any suggestions for debugging?
20:28:43 <jchonig> It opens OK if I open read-only (i.e. a lock was left by the crash)
20:29:54 <jralls> Please get a stack trace with gdb and attach it to a bug report. Weird that it would care whether it's read-only on open.
20:44:40 <jchonig> jrails is there a deb with debug symbols that would help provide more info?
20:45:31 <jchonig> jrails it might be trying to catch up on automatic transactions
20:46:31 *** mlncn has quit IRC
20:54:52 <jchonig> When running under gdb it popped up an message about invalid transactions and some non-test chars before it crashed
20:58:35 <jchonig> https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=764871#c0
20:58:46 <jchonig> Thanks jrails. Let me know if I can provide more info
21:03:11 <jralls> jchonig: Can you get symbols for that version of GnuCash? I can see that it's freeing something it shouldn't, but I can't see what. It's somewhere in the Since Last Run window, which explains why it doesn't crash when it's read-only.
21:03:40 <jchonig> Where can I get symbols, is there a deb with them?
21:04:16 <jchonig> Oh, duh. gnucash-dbg
21:06:57 <jchonig> jrails: posted
21:14:51 <jralls> Sigh. It's crashing because it's trying to free a bad error node! Please add the gnucash.trace to the bug. It's dinner time, and I'm off on travel next week, so any more discussion will be on the bug.
